Many seem to think he could stick a rod into his head and have it be GG for the opponent if he is in the ritual and since Hidan is immortal it wouldnt effect him.

That is very wrong. Yes he is immortal but everything is still connected through his brain.

As seen once Asuma cuts his head off the connection his brain has to the rest of the body is gone and his head can still talk while his body is unable to do anything.

Same would happen once he sticks a rod into his brain, it will stop all function in his body and nothing will move and he will be lifeless. He would obviously come back if said object was removed from the brain but if he is by himself that is not happening and he just put himself down.

This is from a show called heroes where immortality is used heavily. Basically shows what I am trying to say.

I agree, even the person with the most advanced regeneration in this series would die once something gets lodged into their brain.

Hidan has been irrelevant for over 400 chapters, he wasn't even relevant in the Immortals arc.

So have a bunch of other dead characters but we can still discuss them.

No, Hidan would still be able to function regardless. Hidan's head was able to talk, despite not having lungs. I think it's one of those instances where we should just not try to understand how it works (like Sasori's puppet body)

Because his brain was still intact. If something is in his head, he wont be talking or doing anything, he would be done. The brain is the core of all the function in the body.

I don't think you understand human anatomy. You need lungs to talk. Jiraiya had his throat crushed before he died so he couldn't talk anymore.

Obviously people who are immortal will be different but the head will always been the same, unless the brain is moved somewhere else. It will still and always be the core of function for everything in the body.

:| You're complaining about a decrease in gore and the lack of it yet we witnessed events like this in recent chapters:

This is obviously true. Even a normal human won't lose consciousness for 7-10 seconds after decapitation, so it isn't surprising Hidan was able to survive it. But a rod to the head would shut down his brain for sure, rendering him useless and brain dead.

The logic behind Hidans immortality has no logic in real life, so trying to apply real life logic to Hidan's immortality will have flawed results. Don't even try.

Immortality is not logical no matter what. But the brain will always be the brain just like if his whole body is destroyed he is not coming back.

With the brain done, he would be done. Everything function and movement in his body stops.

and the brain dies in minutes without oxygen which is provided by the lungs. yet he still was alive

You're trying to use how the brain works in real life in relation to the manga, someone earlier had argued that if he was decapitated from his body, he shouldn't be able to speak because he needed lungs. Well he was able to talk, proving that real life body functions don't apply body functions to the anime.

You're applying real life the brains functions to the series, but exclude the lungs functions, which leads to flawed logic.

You obviously dont know who the brain works. You see the brain sends message all throughout the body so it can move. When the rod destroys that central core and no messages can go out, he wont be doing anything.
