As I just said, those objects were small, hence they flew right into the dimensional hole. It's obvious that it would take way longer to absorb a living human that can move into any direction. The missile wasn't even absorbed instantly.
My point exactly, a moving object that is in motion while he is stuck and unable to move. Imagine the skill it would take to chase down a missile. To say the arrow is small is a bit of an understatement, it's not like it was the size of a regular arrow that is shot by a regular bow. He doesn't have to warp the whole body, only parts of the body like when he faught Deidara. But if you take the Kakashi now, who is obviously more skilled with his ms now then he was then, I'm sure he could easily have warped all of Deidara instead of just his hands.
