That's bullshit. No one said that this should be the only thing that will give them a sense of validity in themselves, their existence and right to be, and it's a good thing too because it's not. But it helps to encourage that. That's why we don't have every character in every movie be a white guy. Representation is important, especially at a time like this when they are still heavily scrutinized, ridiculed and put down.
