Nope he shouldn't have won an award for that.

Personally, I would have nominated Mother for an award as she is the most courageous person I have ever met, but that is neither here nor there.

Awards are just for media and really do not mean anything. So many people deserve awards and so many things should be different in media world, but they are not. I really do not care nor believe it is a big deal as it is just an award, but it is to some people and that is perfectly understandable. I do believe good people should be honored, but awards and things are a business about money and headlines. Bruce was someone of notable fame and his transition into a woman worked for him, now her, and for the media. Was she truly the ultimate candidate? Probably not, no, but she has a case for sure due to the inspiration she brings to others.

I do want to address everyone being so vulgar. It is good to be vocal, but I do believe everyone could be nicer about it. We should support who we want without bashing someone else. What Bruce Jenner did was good for him, again now her, and inspired people and what people do in the army is amazing and inspiring, as is helping the homeless or what have you, but awards are like politics. It is a disaster. I like to be an optimist. At least the award went to someone with an actual case. Again, not the perfect candidate, but the award was not completely in vein. It worked for the media attention and also inspires people to just be yourself and be happy. That is what I take away from this. Call me sensitive, Mother always tells me I have a big heart, but that is how I feel.

"She" is the ugliest woman I have ever seen!!! :eww: Sorry to say America is sick and its spreading its sickness to the whole world!

America is flawed, but the inspiring message of "you do you" without hurting anybody or anything negative is not sick. The growth of equality is probably America's brightest aspect.

Sorry I rambled on and I am sure many will disagree with me or not even care, but that is, I believe, all I have to say on the subject. Thank you for reading and for commenting if you choose to.

"You do you" is probably right! But when you are doing it openly than that's where the problem starts! You are promoting something unnatural and perverted by coming infront of a social and mass media and encouraging other people to rebel and cause unnecessary uproar! People want different things but that doesn't mean that they have a right to get whatever they want! Thats what I meant by sickness! Freedom is good but excess of everything is bad!

It may be unnatural (not an opinion. Going from being a man to a woman is, by definition, unnatural), but that does not mean it's exactly wrong. People do not have to agree with her decision, but if she is happy and nobody else is getting hurt, I mean, what is there to be mad or worry about? I suppose your worst case scenario from this seems to be if she inspires people to do the same. I do not believe the transgender population is that big and again, it would be their business, not yours. People's adult private life should be their concern, not someone else. If Mother and I want to have cookie doe ice cream, but you want us have just vanilla ice cream, then that's crossing a line. It's not your business to tell us what ice cream we can and cannot have. It does not affect you at all just like someone going from a boy to a girl does not affect your life at all. You do not have to agree with it, but let people be. World is bad enough. Ourselves are all we have. Being yourself, in this instance, is not a bad thing. A *** change is not the same as commuting murder, for example. It's just someone's change in life style in order to be comfortable. There is really no harm. Just let people be themselves.

I do believe people have the right to be themselves if it's not hurting anybody. I do agree that freedom is good, but excess can be bad only if the excess is a bad thing. This is not a bad thing. There is an adult making a decision that hurts no one. Well, it makes people mad for reasons I do not understand, but it does not truly hurt anybody.

Sorry if I repeated the same thing over and over. I just strongly believe in just being yourself and people not getting so bothered at something that does not involve them or affect them at all. I inherited that from Mother, for sure.

If you but have a "little Sense" you would understand my point! These kinds of people (doing unnatural things) "are infact" causing damage to the society and human beings in general by just being there in the open! They are kind of a silent weapon! From your point of view I think you are either very young or very naive, but you will understand this one day! This is what is happening in "The Real World"!

I agree wholeheartedly. This is honestly sickening.
Who cares about the award, it's the fact that he is being honored as courageous over a veteran who sacrificed his limbs for his country and a poor girl who died of brain cancer that still fought it and even played basketball despite the handicap she faced and raised money for research.
I am truly ashamed of this aspect my country has. If this man now women had any dignity whatsoever when he is presented the award he should honor it to those two instead of himself/herself.

We decide what is real because of the scope we choose to core things in. If I were to focus on every single problem in this vast world, I would go insane. Instead, I like simplicity and being with Mother. Mother is my scope.

Going back to the award, I do believe her giving someone else the award would truly be inspiring and great for the media, so everybody wins. Good idea.

NB should also have an award for people who change their gender icons, I guess.

Oh geez, go back to tumblr with that social justice warrior crap :lol
Social Justice Warrior? Tumblr?

To argue being born a white male in the US does not grant certain privilege is to argue against logic itself.

An award for being born with privilege? Sounds about right.
Why not? Privledge comes with merit, the straight white man built civilization while everyone else tries to pervert it.

White men created Mesopotamia? White men created Egypt? Do I even have to mention the moors?

On the backs of slavery and global atrocities. I will digress that point to you.

Being born a white man in modern US society is to be born with privilege.
