Loving the activity in here, keep it up :lok::sigar:

Lol I've been meaning to respond to your posts but was busy.

I couldn't finish the game ngl, I had to stop watching Qatar looked so lost it was just shocking xd.

I get what you mean but I can't even say anything since my home country hasn't qualified since 98 >.>

I agree with you, its not one man team but Mane is that guy that inspires his national team, without him they will be lackluster and lack that goal threat too much and struggle.

Spot on with pretty much every single thing you mentioned there. I think the African teams just aren't well balanced, main factor is that most of their players are snatched by Europeans and what not(France for example).

I've haven't watched a lot of international games recently, tend to stick to just premier league these days, but I've seen some results and they do look well gel'd together as a team and Van Gaal is a magician none the less.

In general, they have good individual players. The problem is the general structure of their national football associations and lack of professionalism. This often results in a very warped power balance between the players, the coach and the association. The situation were a top player refuses to play for the national team because he doesn't agree with the choices of the coach or is not satisfied with the support from the association, is quite common, but happens rarely for Western teams.

I remember Cameroon in 2014, one of the most prominent African football countries, being the worst-playing team of that edition because they were in conflict with their own association during the tournament.

Yes, we will carry it from its ashes if we must!:score:

Add some Kumi betting on this shit.

Cali usually saves that for the Final... And some fancy award of course:sigar:

I feel like there’s still too much corruption in African football, that and the ego of the key players in each team play a role in their downfall at international stage, the corruption was backed by FIFA I read somewhere a while ago which I’m not surprised one bit.

I remember that as-well Cameron were hyped to do well 2014 and even 2010 they had a decent team & same with Ivory Coast when they had that team around Drogba, it’s a shame really.

Aaahhh it won’t lemme see the video, not available in UK apparently. My VPNs ran out too so I can’t work around it lmao.

You so on point on the corruption part. The local leagues don't help matters. The system is rigged, the African national team often consist of international players who have little to no loyalty for the country. Cameroon case was just a sad story. The players played the ball yet the association wanted more of the cake, like who does that.

You know i would argue that this internal conflict that keep arising in African teams, the European countries are to blame. You don't expect a country fighting poverty to be able to treat this players the way they are treated in their international club. The money is not there, also most African countries don't see sport as lucrative business as Europeans make it out to be

SPOT ON & 3 points in the bag for the Fantasy League :sigar::super:

I didn't get to watch the England match, but this was by far the most fun and engaging match so far in the World Cup, great game to cap off the day.
The extra additional time implementation seems cool, though a lot of players suffering from cramps xD

Messi in action tomorrow :lok::foot:

Damn good shit, everyone was pretty close with predictions tbf.

I’m not a fan of these extra added times ngl lmao it’s a great example of why World Cup shouldn't have been in winter players are struggling cramping left & right :ROFLMAO:.

I’m just praying my Arsenal players don’t get injured..

Damn,
Broooo that’s what I’m sayinggg, we’re top of the league I wanna stay there😭
You guys are one injury away from dropping off. You're gonna need to pray to the footballing gods to prevent that, because the chances of no injury are pretty slim with that much football to be played.

On another note, my predictions were off in terms of goals, but my win/draw/loss prediction was spot on. I think England surprised me with the amount of goals they scored a little bit.

I know some very strong voodoo that can prevent any injury to my club prayers.

We literally are one injury away. Every outfield player we’ve sent is crucial so it’s a lose lose.

January reinforcements might be the way.

Nooo not the JuJu… :ROFLMAO:

These extra added minutes are tough for sure xD But st least they make the games as long as they really should be. Hopefully it prevents time stalling.

Matchday 3 predictions:

Argentina 4 - 0 Saudi Arabia (Messi hattrik)

Denmark 1 - 0 Tunisia (just barely, corner goal in additional time)

Mexico 0 - 0 Polen (Lewa misses a penalty)

France 4 - 1 Australia (France runs riot in this match, but only scores 4)
