Tbh Croatia is getting worse with each game. They're nowhere near their group stage level. The coach made some bad calls with some tactical changes, and apparently players are getting exhaused from playing 2 consecutive 120 minutes.

That is true though, it's like they are locking up. Their two first games in the group stage were outstanding. Still though, Modric has played well in each and every game so far so can't take that away from him, but yeah I agree. They now remind me of Portugal from Euro 2016, lol, maybe they'll even be able to go all the way...

Performance wise, Belgium is perhaps the team that has had the least curve (the Japan game was really the only hiccup before they turned it around), while France and Croatia comes in second (Croatia with great performance in the Group Stage, and France with great performance in the knockout stages). And then you have England, who has yet to really impress but at the same time has seemed to have decent controll at the back for most parts. Of the remaining four, I think they are the underdog right now but only slightly behind Croatia, and therefore that game is completely open for sure...

i know right ? that one just messi fanboy... probably still bitter about the midget being useless in wc like always, so just ignore him...

i used to dislike england for benching scholes to acomodate divas like gerrard and lampard to play together, but now this england is young and completely a brand new team, from what i can see they play with no pressure and just do what they need to do in the pitch which is to win games and play effectively in both defense and offense, so for me there is no reason to dislike them anymore neither do i root for them, am neutral in this wc since azzuri is not even in russia.

Croatia is gonna be a difficult match for sure but I think we got the edge and we should surely win this.

Croatia played the Danes and Russia, they had to go into overtime both times. Sweden and Colombia are both better sides than these two are. We convincingly won against Sweden and were unlucky against Colombia when they equalized with their only chance that they had the whole game. We have structure and play well. Our offense could be better but we are good at set-pieces. Croatia is going to be tired after these two 120 mins. We got this imo.

For the other game, I hope France wins for the simple reason that if England should go through, I think we would have a better chance to win playing France instead of Belgium.

Messi and Ronaldo have given more goals , more beautiful actions, more brilliance than any other player the last decade so what the hell are u complaining about some fanwars going on in the internet.. As u soccer fan u should be gratefull u live in an age here u can witness such talents instead of bitching about it

Those figures gave us proper football, which is quite the opposite of what's happening right now. Yea I agree. All first class top players indeed, but the things is those 2 are a class above still. Not only the ridiculous statistics prove that but also plain old viewing in which the level between the rest and them is painfully obvious. And u can bet the listed ones would acknowdledge that without a second thought, so i'm clueless where that ridiculous claim came from , anyway that is what the ignore list is for , so I don't have to read bullnonsense

I agree with this mostly but it comes down to the fact that I never watch La Liga and the EPL hasn't been the same the last 10 years. Messi and Ronaldo are both great players but I enjoy other players more since I rarely see Messi or Ronaldo in action and when Ronaldo played in the EPL I always disliked him since he played for United and that hasn't really changed. As David said, we had much more variety of talented players 10 years ago aswell or at least more players who were exciting to watch. This stuff should go in the football debates thread tho since it has nothing to do with the WC.
