Seriously I never understand why Van Gaal never went for a good defender. I have to say, these is the worst United defense I had ever seen.

Because frankly, there were no really good defenders. Even my Barca bought some of the better ones and Bayern bought Benatia super cheap as well. That's all for good and not overpriced defenders imo. :vision:

Man City is such an incredibly inconsistant team. Just as much as KT Arrows used to be. Imho, Man City can be the best team in the world when at their best, but can tie with bad teams like Crystal Palace when not.

Heard rumours going around that Sanchez is unhappy at Arsenal given the direction of the team. He expected to come to a team and help them win trophies, but given the situation it doesn't look like that's likely. I know Juventus were in for him and were the likeliest suitors for him but they didn't fork over the money. If he does indeed request a transfer, it's between Juventus and likely PSG who need a winger as well.

Naturally, the away crowd is always better than the home crowd for any team, not only Chelski.

Nah, just kidding. United defenders are terrible indeed, LVG is searching hard for a quality defender.
The players aren't the problem IMO, he still can't find the winning formula. But he better stick with the 4-1-2-1-2 formation, it's quite solid, both on the offence and defense.

I would go with either diamond, with two strikers(if Falcao returns) or with 2 players behind Falcao/RVP(based upon form), with Di Maria, playing a more central role rather than winger. LVG can chose from Wayne Rooney or Mata to accompany Di Maira. I would let Janujaz play down the left side, Herrera on the right and with Fellaini is doing the thing that he is doing for a while, winning the ball, using his body and keeping other playmakers out of the game.
If Blind is fit and we have good defenders, then and only then he should play in midfield.
About defenders,we need someone solid at the back and that's where we need someone like JT/Ivanovic, he brings that experience and guides your other junior defenders. One of the reasons, Chelsea and Southampton are doing well this season is their defenses, which are pretty good.

Price can't be constraint, while majoring a good defender. I partially agree with your first statement though, but it isn't due to talent depletion, It is due to the fact that big clubs are focusing on making their attacking front better and are paying ridiculously high prices for attackers. They aren't even developing young defenders.>.>

Poor Arsenal...

Many say this was such a weird game and it's unbelievable how Arsenal could have lost, but not at all if you analyze it properly.

Arsenal played very well through their midfield, but defensively and attack were poor.

They controlled the game well and build their attack perfectly, but couldn't finish, poor attack. United only had a few shots on/off target yet they turned into goals, so defensively they were poor as well.

United were very poor in defensive (nothing new there) and the defensive midfield part, but clinical in attacking on the counter. They could have walked away with 3 goals.

So with United good on the attack and Arsenal poor on the defense, of course United are gonna get goals, and with United poor on the defensive and Arsenal not clinical in their attack that kinda evens out.

However Arsenal should have won that match, they were at home and they controlled the game, they were just not aggressive enough in attacking and that's why players like Aguero, Costa and last seasons Suarez score so much, they are ruthless in their attack.
