That's bollocks and you know it. Chelsea should have gotten a penalty when Terry AND Ivanovic were wrestled to the ground. We had the much better chances. United didn't even have a single decent chance to score. This was pure luck from United and they should have never got a point from that game. The refs handed United a point once again.

It wasn't 'a pure luck', team played better football yesterday and Mourinho wasn't good, we deserved it.
Although I agree with referee point here, it was unfortunate, but no meaning in taking away the credit.U_U

There was that pass from Januzaj to Persie, that was dangerous. They were controlling the game in the first 45 minutes. By far United's best half of football this season.
31 goals, 0 penalties, 12 assists, golden boot winner, carried Liverpool on his shoulders last year... He's better than half of those on the list. **** you FIFA and **** you Blatter.
I want Schweinsteiger to win this, from a tactical point of view this guy is a monster. But I know some poster boy who celebrates like a p**** after scoring a penalty will win it.

Suarez was robbed of the shortlist, what is sad is he is a solid top 3 player (if he wins BPL, then he is THE BEST of the year), just as bad as Wesley was robbed of player of the year in 2010. Smdh, this is why I just don't care for the fifa organization and the player of the year shows nothing of talking about who is the best players. People who use it to distinguish who was the best of a year is mad. They base it all off of pure goals scored. If that is the case with Fifa and the voters, then Maradona, Cryuff, Backenbuer, Platini, Zidane, Ronaldinho, and much, much more should not hold such prestige titles.

Completely agree with you, football is a team sport and the Ballon d'or should be awarded to a man who is the most important contributor in the team that year, rather than the highest goal scorer.
In 2012 Iniesta was the foundation stone of Barca's midfield without him Barca wouldn't have achieved the level of success they achieved, but yet it was awarded to Messi because he was the forward and we can all see this year that a weakened Iniesta=weakened Barca.
The award infact is broken as it almost always favours the forward rather than emphasizing on all the various position in the team.
In Fact almost all Fifa awards are broken, this world cup Golden Ball went to Messi, which according to me should have been given to Muller, his position in his team was indispensable and I think Müller will always be a bit underrated because he doesn't have the flashy technique of Messi or Ronaldo and you can't make gifs or short videos of his work rate, his game reading ability or his thought process during the game.
As for Suarez, despite being a Bayern fan I will say he deserved the spot in this shortlist more than Gotze who last year was good but wasn't as good as Suarez and all this BS about Suarez's bite iirc Zidane was still shortlisted after the headbutt. He even came in second.
Also Luka Modric is not on the list, he was one of the best midfielders in La Liga last year, he should be included rather than Hazard imho.

It is extremely situational. Maradona, is arguably the single most dominate player to ever play the game. Everything he has done, won, and achieved statistically, has been by himself. He lead and won the world cup for Argentina in 1986 (He had 5 goals and 5 assists). Next WC he did the same thing, only to lose it in the final, but that is still incredibly impressive. He was the man at Barca and for Naopli was successful, he won major trophies with a mediocre team before he showed up, in the toughest league at that time (I personally think it was the toughest of all time, he was going against the Milans, and Juventus). He does it himself, he never showed that he needed a good team to win it.
Cryuff is sorta different. He is the main practitioner of the Total Football playing style. However, he only played one WC, he lead a team to a final but lost to a simply more talented roster of Germany (Backenbeur and Muller) and all in their prime. However, Cruyff is probably the smartest player to ever play. He is definitely my personal favorite of all time. He was a mathematician on the field, someone who looked at the game in a different angle. Personally, he is the GODFATHER, yep I said it, GODFATHER, of the modern day era. How we look at the game today, Cryuff contributed with his style of play. Yall like Messi? Messi is just a short version of Cryuff. Cryuff could do it all, he is the most complete technique player to ever do it. His brains alone could make a terrible team, all play effectively and properly. Look at what he did for Barca when he was a player and a coach. He did it with his mind and skill.
Now once again, it is situational. Maradona has shown us a little bit more then cryuff. Here is my final decision.
If I want a player to play in a final, and I need the win, I pick Maradona.
If I want a player to build around and create a team around, I pick Cruyff.
If I see these two go against one another individually, I pick Maradona.
If I see these two go against one another in a team game and both teams are really good, I pick Cryuff.
Maradona is a dominate player by himself, I simply have not seen enough from him playing with a good team and see how he would work with them. As a coach he showed he has no pure mindset and intelligence, while Cryuff is known to make a team very good because of how smart and skilled he is. So it is situational, I can see people saying Maradona and I can see people saying Cryuff, I'm biased, so I personally would Cryuff.
That is a good point, Messi probably never deserved the WC player of the tournament, but it can be argued. However, Fifa has always tried to give the people what they want, overall, the majority of people suckle on Messi and Ronaldo, so they want them to win it all, in reality they probably don't deserve half the stuff they get. Football now, is also a forward dominate game at the moment. Its all about goals, goals, and more goals. Midfielders are neglected, as well as Defenders, and Goalkeepers are NEVER in the equation.

Fifa, I think should either start awarding players for individual positions Like midfielder, forward, GK etc.
Or should start to pay more emphasis on their team of the year, which often gets almost no attention anywhere, as Fifa pays much more importance to Ballon d’Or.
At the end of the day football is a team sport and bar 2-3 legends, a team wins it, Germany showed it in this years WC, Atletico Madrid showed it in last years club competition, they should make Fifa's team of the year most revered award in football.
