Can Kisame defeat Itachi ?

I acknowledge that Kisame is strong, but not > Itachi

Kisame already admitted Itachi was superior. He even followed his orders because he knew Itachi was not someone to fuk with. If Itachi was weaker Kisame would have killed him already like he did his other partners.

No. What? No. Kisame recognized Itachi was POWERFUL and a fight with him would be costly. It doesn't mean he thought Itachi was stronger. He realized Itachi was smarter, yes.

And, Kisame ALWAYS took the role of a tool or follower, even in Kirigakure. He was always following orders. That's his niche. He's not the leader type.

And, when did Kisame kill his previous partners..? As far as we know, Itachi was his first.

Samehada already dislikes consuming Itachi's regular Katon, something tells me he isn't going to enjoy touching Amaterasu.

The only person who would dare attack Kisame at close range and hope to win is Guy. And even then it was a mid range Hirudora he used.

Just because you have Intel doesn't mean he can escape it

Samehada didn't like it, but it did. With no real ailments. That, and normal katon can be defeated by any suiton jutsu and Amaterasu itself may not even reach Samehada pending on how much there is.

Considering the massive amounts of intel Kisame has on the MS, and on Itachi.. It's pretty certain he and Samehada will be ready and always testing for some Genjutsu. He's not getting caught in one for long, the only thing that could POSSIBLY end him is Tsukuyomi. Which he has canonly seen twice and hinted at more times.

Actually the same Kisame is a bad matchup for some Gai was to Kisame. Gai is far from weak and EVEN ITACHI FEARED HIM to an extent, saying "don't underestimate that man"(like you are now) and other stuff. Feats speak for themself

Amaterasu > Kisame. The only way he's fending that off is by using his giant dome, and that will only slow down the travel time.

Sasuke has been hit by Tsukiyomi twice. Didn't prevent him from falling for it a third time. And each of those 3 times Itachi would have ended him.

thats not the same thing, kisame lost to guy because he thought the move guy was using was a jutsu but it was taijutsu which was Daytime Tiger and Kisame used Super Shark Bomb which absorbs any ninjutsu thus overpowering it but since guy used a taijutsu that didnt work...guy won in that scenario he isnt more powerful than kisame
