i know you said not to reply but i just had to,no...but thats the whole reason its called beliefs...you can't see gravity yet you believe it exists, you can see the wind, yet you believe it exists, you can't see the microorganisms(without help) yet you believe it exists. thats the basis of any religion(except scientology, theres is a book and scientology isn't a religion but a mockery of all religions). you believe that there is a force that you cant see. and i know you are going to say that all those things i have stated can be proved with science, but what about before the age of modern science?
you say,
"you can see the wind, yet you believe it exists"
that's true, but i can feel it and see the effects caused by it.
"you can't see the microorganisms(without help) yet you believe it exists"
sorry bro but that's a weak point, even though we do need help we can still see them, kinda helps the credibility allong
like Kiwii said, people have believed in gods throughout history, mainly to explain thing that they couldnt understand, we had a god for the sun, ocean, fire, lighting, wind, love, war and tons more.
so just because we cant understand how the universe got into beiing doesnt justify the notion of a omnipotent "person" with some master plan putting it all into place.
another thing that bothers me about christianity specificly is the bible,
yes that's right i said it!
the books in the bible were writtin over the course of more then a thousend years.
and being translated by the church through out the dark ages, to their own liking off course.
now i dont know if you know this but back in those days churches werent the most positve bunch.
making people believe they will go to hell if they dont believe, having major if not all infuences with the leaders of that time, ordering crusades, sending little children from paris to jerusalem on foot, just to spread this so called faith?
and on another more specific note.
Leviticus,
its a book in the bible that actually has rules on how to deal with your slaves if they do something wrong,
as if it is ok to even have them at all.
it even justfies murder in some cases.
this further shows that the bible is a book of those times and is best left there.
the middle eastern conflict is a modern day and maybe the best example on how religion has been the main cause of death through out history. israel has been occupying palastina for over 40 years now, and for what??
just because their fate states it is there land??
as you can see i realy dislike religions,
they are the worst kind of human arrogance, claiming that they have all the awnsers, while the human brain just doesnt have the the capacity to fully understand the scale of the universe.
but even though i dislike religions, doesnt mean i dont think there can be some devine being or "force".
like i said the universe is just to big for us to understand, so maybe there is something behind it, maybe there isnt, the point is that we just dont know.
