no, proof is nagato getting smacked by ninjutsu in the middle of combat when his canonical reaction against all ninjutsu that can be absorbed is preta path.

Seeing as you haven't figured it out i'll use an example with your flawed reasoning.
"Susanoo can't block rasenshuriken as Madara used petra path instead."
I can also ignore every thing that leading up to that situation and call it proof.

what you are saying is a logical fallacy. you tried to disprove the manga with logically unsound reasoning.
there was nothing stopping nagato from using preta path to rid of amaterasu or susano when he actually came in contact with them so you do not have the grounds to make a claim that he can when this didnt happen in the canon encounter in the manga.
The bold is exactly what you've been doing. You've ignored the fact that edo's aren't in control and can't kill one another shown by the Mizukage trying to kill Mu so there's no need for them to defend against each other. Secondly you ignore that Kabuto was dealing only with Naruto and Bee and completely ignored Itachi.
Also since when does choosing one option over another mean that the option not used can not work. That's like me choosing to drive somewhere does that mean my legs wont be able to get me to the same place?
You cling to manga facts and cannon material. Here are the facts petra path has yet to fail against absorbing any ninjutsu, by fail I mean petra path activated and ninjutsu hitting it and being absorbed. It's even absorbed transformation justu's and sage energy. This supports the databooks statement of it being able to absorb all ninjutsu regardless of its properties.
Going by the facts you love to cling to petra path absorbs that mass of chakra(susanoo) and that high level katon(amaterasu).

preta path is activated at the speed of thought. in the anime has shown that nagato or more specifically kabuto saw itachis susano coming towards him before it sliced nagatos arm off. that means that nagato had time to physically react so erecting preta paths barrier wouldve been easy.
absolutely laughable.
kabuto whos knows the workings of the 6 paths abilities used shinra tensei instead of preta path to rid of amaterasu. we have seen amaterasu and susanos effect on a conscious rinnegan user(kabuto who controlled nagato). whether nagato had preta path up and it failed against these techs are irrelevant as there was nothing stopping him from using preta path.
this was debunked by the manga. there isnt a discussion to be had.

Amaterasu = high level katon. Katons can be absorbed, amaterasu can be absorbed.
Susanoo = mass of chakra which can be absorbed, I don't even know why you're trying to debate otherwise.
Plenty of evidence pointing in petra paths favour. I'm sticking with petra path.

to the nagato fanboys in this thread:
if nagato could absorb ms dojutsu then he wouldnt have gotten fodderized by them in the manga.
nagato has used preta path to absorb any ninjutsu that can be absorbed 100% of the time. you are the ones that have the burden of evidence and need to prove why nagato would suddenly do a 90 degree turn from his in character actions and not use it in the face of ninjutsu.
