Now before i start this i'd like to say that i'm not a Sanji fanboy. Zoro is my favourite character but Sanji is close and up there. So save me from the bias comments about me "d*ck riding" Sanji or whatever.
Oda portrays these two as rivals. Zoro is the unofficial first mate while Sanji is the chef. Many might suggest that the fact that Zoro is the first mate is enough to portray him as the stronger one. Wrong. You can't have two first mates can you? Even though Sanji is the chef he has shown good judgement and qualities of a first mate. If Sanji wasn't the chef he could potentially be Zoro's competition on the role of the first mate.
Alot of people are saying that Zoro>>>>Sanji because Zoro always fights the 2nd strongest enemy (the first mate) while Sanji fights the 3rd strongest. This logic is flawed and i'll explain why. Lets start with Enies Lobby arc.
Here you see the Douriki difference between Kaku and Jabra. Kaku's Douriki is 2200 and Jabra's is 2180. Many have used this to speculate Zoro's and Sanji's Douriki. Now let me explain why Zoro's Douriki is only a little higher than Sanji's.
Now what was Sanji's goal? His goal was to get the key, get out of there and free Robin. Jabra was simply a stepping stone. They were goofing around but once the fight became more serious Sanji beat Jabra Mid-diff. It was obvious that Sanji was the stronger one but Jabra was using tricks in order to match him.
Now you might be wondering why i showed all of these scans. Well, whereas Sanji was clearly superior to Jabra, Zoro and Kaku were portrayed as equal from the get go. Zoro won High-diff. Sanji won Mid-diff. So those saying that
Kaku's Douriki: 2200
Jabra's Douriki: 2180
means that Zoro's is around 2210 and Sanji's around 2190 are tripping.
My second point: Remember when Sanji fought Mr.3. Sanji was superior but Mr.3 was able to put up a fight because he kept turning into Nami which prevented Sanji from attacking him.
These two scans should be enough to show you that it took Zoro extreme diff in order to beat Daz Bones aka Mr. 2
Now Sanji was able to beat Mr3 High- diff. Why so high? because he kept turning into Nami which prevented Sanji from attacking him. Another one of those tricks.
Nutshell: Sanji's enemies are weaker than Zoro's but Sanji beats them with less difficulty than Zoro beats his.
Alright this is Zoro's best physical strength feat (from what i remember). He lifts a building and tosses it which is an impressive feat.
Due to this feat people tend to say that Zoro is physically stronger than Sanji. I disagree. Zoro's physical strength lies on his upper body whereas Sanji's physical strength lies on his lower body.
Here you see Sanji matching and deflecting a Gomu gomu no: Giant bazooka from Oars.
Impressive if you ask me. Here you see Sanji kicking Oars' leg so hard he trips.
Now here Sanji is casually kicking chunks from a building and making them bounce like footballs.
So physically Sanji is indeed a monster. I'd like to see Zoro punch chunks of buildings and making them bounce like that. Also if you paid attention you should notice that building was bigger than the one Zoro lifted.
Zoro's best durability feat was taking in Luffy's pain and remaining concious. Now i'm not saying that Sanji could do the same. I'm saying that if Sanji had taken Luffy's pain he would've survived but lost conciousness whereas Zoro was still standing. Sanji is no pushover.
Sanji getting straight decimated by Oars' Gomu Gomu no: Gatling gun.
After a while he gets back up like he was never hurt.
Overall my point: The difference between these two is really small. Zoro and Sanji are equal in many categories. Zoro is superior in some categories and Sanji in other.
I tried to keep this short lol. I won't be talking about Sanji's and Zoro's speed or stamina because you don't really hear people saying that Zoro's speed and stamina are>>>>>>>>>Sanji's, on the contrary Sanji has shown superior stamina. They're pretty close when it comes to speed but Sanji is generally accepted as the faster one.
