What do you know about ninjutsu? Just off the top of your head, please.
Ninjutsu was based off of ninshu the peaceful research of chakra in order to better understand oneself. Ninjutsu is anything thats not genjutsu or taijutsu and is the molding and manipulation of chakra in order to cause violence, war, pain, etc. There are two types of ninjutsu, nature transformation and non-nature transformation. Nature transformation is when you knead elemental chakra into an object, the ground, or an limb anything you can use to launch an offensive or defensive. Non-nature transformation deals with the manipulation of chakra without any nature implemented into it. An example of non-nature transformation would be rasengan, or a shadow clone. A nature example of those two would be a wind-style rasen-shuriken and a lightning shadow clone. There is also such a thing as shape manipulation which would be simply the molding of pure or nature chakra into a sphere or a rock or a wall. Ninjutsu is most useful for strategic plans, for example Naruto used his shadow clones for distraction, diversions, small attacks while his real self created traps an waited for the right moment to launch the finishing move.

Great answer. Ninjutsu also deals with a lot of chakra-enhanced weapons, such as kunais, shurikens, etc. etc. As we go through the list, you'll see that there are a lot of those!

For this training, we'll just be testing our comprehension skills and analysis of each jutsu. I won't make you perform them, but I may ask questions from time to time, and give you quizzes if needed ;)

Our first set deals with two types of weapons. The first are needles, and the second are giant shurikens. What might be some advantages of needles that giant shurikens don't have, and vice versa?

(Fukumi Hari) - Hidden Needles
Rank: D
Type:Attack
Range:Short
Chakra Cost:10
Damage Points:20
Description: The user is able to call forth needles into their mouth and then spit them at their opponent with great accuracy.
(Kage Shuriken no Jutsu) - Shadow Shuriken Technique
Rank: D
Type:Attack
Range:Short-Mid
Chakra Cost:15
Damage Points:20
Description: Kage Shuriken no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing a giant Windmill Shuriken. When throwing the shuriken, the ninja will also throw a second giant shuriken to hide in the shadow of the first. The hidden secondary shuriken can then approach the target without their being aware.

The first technique's greatest advantage would have to be the number of projectiles, and it's low chakra cost compared to that of the giant shuriken. However there is not much you can do with the needles, while the hidden shurikens is a great technique to use during a combo. It is much more difficult to avoid. It also has a range advantage compared to that of the first technique.

Here's something else. Needles have a very slim profile, making them harder to see for shinobi with regular eyes. Think about it. Needles are thin and small versus a large, black-colored shuriken/kunai. You might be able to sneak in a couple of attacks with them if you distract/occupy your opponent U_U

Temporary Body Paralysis uses your chakra to bind an animal. Useful for annoying summons. You have to focus your chakra, so you can't mold any other types, but you can attack with weapons and taijutsu.

Killing Intent is pretty detailed so I don't think I'll have to go over it too much. Since you're a Jounin (by post rank), Genin ranked opponents can be severely affected. Chuunins won't, and will just feel your presence and whatever else you can make of in the description. On the flipside, you can resist Killing Intent to a certain degree up to S-Jounin/S-Class, but anyone with a higher post-rank will be able to completely dominate you. Basically, get them posts up if you want to have maximum effectiveness xd

Be creative when you do apply it. Don't just use it to intimidate; I've seen instances where users stop their opponents from performing jutsu, throw off their aim, and much much more.

Then, Beauty under the Moonlight is a good way to blind a non-dojutsu user and set up for a combination attack, since it allows you to approach from any angle after casting it. Again, use it wisely!

(Kanashibari no Jutsu) - Temporary Body Paralysis Technique
Rank: D
Type:Supplementary
Range:Short-Mid
Chakra:15 (-5 per turn)
Damge Points:N/A
Description: Kanashibari no Jutsu is a simple Ninjutsu technique used to temporarily bind an animal (or animals). With the target frozen in place, the ninja can either take the opportunity to attack or to retreat. It can only be used against animal (summons or not) and works by forcefully using your chakra to restrain the summon physically by holding it in place. It can, however, be broken by outside means or brute force, making it less effective against bigger summons like boss summons or similar.
Note: lasts only as long as the user is focusing on the target to sustain it.
(Sakki) - Killing Intent
Rank: D - S
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: N/A
Damage points: N/A
Description: Killing Intent pertains to the ability of the user giving off their pure killing intention and having it affect their opponent and others around them up to the point of paralyzing them. When the Killing Intent is particularly strong, it can even give the victim visions of their own gruesome death, nausea, pain, etc. This can cause the Killing Intent to be confused with a genjutsu, despite not being a genjutsu at all; simply a showcase of intention and power. The target will feel as if facing an overwhelming enemy and, even if not a sensor, will suddenly feel the pressure of the users chakra and its magnitude, making the effect that much more dramatic. To effectively be used, the user needs to focus on his target and concentrate on the killing intent towards it, meaning that one must see the target and be focused on it. The strength of the Killing Intent is dependent on many factors and go through several levels. If a difference in rank smaller than 2 ranks exist, the enemy will feel only the pressure and the ominous presence of their dark intentions. Its enough to lose your grasp on a weapon or stay clinched to it (depending on the situation) or even to hesitate in an attack, stumble or mess up a handseal, all depending on the situation and proximity. The effect is small and normally not that significant but can be effectively used to pressure enemies into making a mistake. If a difference of 2 ranks or more exist, the enemy will be frozen, almost unable to move as the overwhelming killing intent dominates their own conscious and riddles them with nightmarish versions of death. The paralyzation gradually weakens as time passes and can only be maintained while the user is focused on the target. The further away the target, the weaker it is and it can only fully paralyze a target within short range. Similarly, the more targets one focuses on, the weaker the effect is in each one (divinding the effects equally between the number of targets). Lastly, the stronger the user is in relation to the target, the stronger the effect will be. The target can counter Killing Intent directed at it through pain, "mind cleansing" techniques or their own Killing Intent.
Note: Intensity of technique depends on the rank of the user, distance to target and number of targets one is focusing on
Note: Can only be used once
Note: Lasts only while the user is focusing on it and while focusing on it the user can't mold chakra
(Ninpou: Gekka Bijin) - Ninja Arts: Beauty Under the Moonlight
Rank: D
Type:Supplementary
Range:Short
Chakra Cost:10
Damage Points:N/A
Description: The user will create a swarm of sakura(cherry blossoms)petals to surround there opponents and swirl around them causing confusion. The user can then attack there opponent from any angle they choose. Blinds opponents eyes for the turn this jutsu is used.

1. Alright so like you said the first one is useful against summons but the size matters, also if there's more than one summon then it would be even harder. However if I were fighting someone at my level then it's as easy as it could be. Also its kinda a trap for the user, since it can only keep the animal bound while focusing on it, so the summoner could attack and break that focus, and while the summon is in close range it could also attack.

2. This one is dependent on how you use it and who you use it against. I can see that post count is the key. However I can still effect Chunin to a degree, making their attacks fail as you had suggested. I would use the technique when the opponent is in close range and after I launched an attack basically stopping their movements. Unlike the first technique you don't have to worry about "outside forces" unless the user actually did use a summon. However there are many restrictions to use this technique. You can also use this technique at any rank so that's cool.

3. This one would have to be my favorite, like you said against Byakugan and Sharingan it's useless however it can be fatal. This is a low chakra cost technique that can be used as a distraction and diversion. Unlike the other two techniques it doesn't stop the opponent in his tracks but it distracts him. The user unlike in the other techniques is also free to do whatever he likes, whether it is to set up a trap or use a offensive jutsu. The user however can easily evade this and attack. But it blinds the opponent for one turn so there is no way out of it when your in it.

Alright. Our next three are relatively simple. The first is a chain reaction of explosions which are primed by loaded kunai pouches and a trigger. Empty Cicada and Silent Homicide are both stealth-based and reliant on distractions.

No need to analyze all of them since they're relatively self-explanatory, but tell me which jutsus you'd use or a battle situation to combo with Empty Cicada and Silent Homicide so that they achieve maximum effect.

(Sakura Fubuki no Jutsu) - Cherry Blossom Snow Storm Technique
Rank: D
Type: Attack
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points: 20
Description: The user will hurl kunai with pouches attached at their target. Upon impact, the pouches explode, releasing small explosive notes. Due to the large number of kunai thrown, a shower of notes will rain down on the target. The user will then throw one final kunai with an active explosive note at the target. It will begin to burn, and by igniting the falling smaller notes it will cause a gigantic explosion.
(Utsusemi no Jutsu) - Empty Cicada Shell Technique
Rank: D
Type:Supplementary
Range:Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 10
Damage Points:N/A
Description: Forming the needed hand seal Ram, a shinobi can project his voice to a different area to hide their location and the number of allies at their side. It is an excellent complement to stealth tactics.
(Muon Satsujin Jutsu) - Silent Homicide Technique
Rank: D
Type:Attack
Range:Short-Mid
Chakra Cost:10
Damage Points:20
Description: Muon Satsujin Jutsu, the ability to commit a silent homicide, is a technique to dispatch your foe with no warning. Your quick speed and skills will instantly kill them before they can provide a defense. Best tactic is when used with Hidden Mist jutsu. The technique works by having the user focus his chakra and his complete attention on moving fluidly, rapidly but muffling any sound he may make while moving as well as his presence, etc. It doesn't suppress his chakra or hides it but it can make the opponent virtually undetected if he manages to get on the opponents blind spot.

1. The first technique is nice, but virtually useless because the jutsu depends on the opponenets location. If the distance between the two is greater the harder it would be to land an attack, and since you need to throw multiple kunai then another kunai afterwards it would be even easier to dodge. However due to the wide range of the attack it would most likely hit the opponent if the kunais were fast enough.

2. Nice technique pretty self-explanatory unlike the first jutsu this doesn't really depend on anything but if the opponent has Dojutsu then its useless.

3. Unlike the second one this is a little different, I don't believe that Sharingan has 360 degree vision. So this would only be countered against Byakugan. As the jutsu suggest I would use this in conjunction with hidden mist.

Almost done with the D-ranks, I promise xd

Makibishis are sort of like small caltrops/jacks. They're good for setting a simple trap or slowing an enemy.

The shadow rope is a good binding technique, but any jutsu or amount of power D-rank and above should easily be able to break its hold.

Haze clones are simple 'mirror images' of their user. They can't attack and are simply chakra constructs and lack the full features of a real clone. Good for scouting and distractions, but realistically, I don't see many useful offensive functions.

(Kage Makibishi no Jutsu) - Shadow Makibishi Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: N/A
Damage points: 10
Description: A simple ninja technique in which the user deploys a smoke bomb and is used to lay down the makibishi undercover so that the enemy target will not notice. This technique is used to cause some damage and slow the enemy target down when they stand on them.
(Kage Nawa no Jutsu) - Shadow Rope Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user will use a black rope infused with their chakra to hold down and trap their opponent.
(Oboro Bunshin no Jutsu) – Haze Clone Technique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Long
Chakra cost: 10
Damage N/A
Description: Haze clone technique is like the regular clone technique in creating intangible clones, although these clones will let the enemy go through them without being dispelled or released. Doujutsu can see through these clones as unlike Shadow Clones, they are intangible and lack any form of chakra circulatory system, chakra flow, etc; they are simple images made by chakra. They cannot do harm to any enemy but can be used to communicate and distract the enemies. The clones can be created anywhere within the users sensory field.

1. The first technique is simple and used just for stealth, because of it its more likely for an attack to land. But in this case it would be more like a diversion to land. It's the setup tech for the setup tech. Unlike the other techniques this trap, will can slow down the opponent but it won't trap them in one position right? This technique also doesn't require a specific range so it can be done anywhere and is remote.

2. This is really simple and basic, although it's fairly simple to evade and doesn't do any damage. Once your caught in it, you can use a number of techniques to put the opponent out of commission granted the opponent doesn't immediately escape. Although you have to be fairly close.

3. This isn't really a trap as it is a psychological game, I can see the opponent meta gaming in a sense, where they make up some BS reason for escaping while their surrounded. The idea is you distract or surround your opponent pressure them into a certain action or divert their attention while setting something up or launching an attack. I like this technique, but I see the opponent weaseling their way out some how. The first technique is also nice, and doesn't require chakra, but it might just be a waste of a turn because for one thing I assume the trap is small, the opponent could avoid it, under the right context though its a nice jutsu. The second technique is also good, its just easy to break I would use it just to hold the opponent in place for a moment and simultaneously launch another trap, like sticky syrup jutsu. All in all their great techniques.

OOC: Sorry for the late reply, I had finals and work, and other family issues I had to work out unable to go online for awhile

No, it won't trap them, referring to your question about the first jutsu.

And welcome back! Hope things worked out with your RL things :)

Ok, the last three D-ranks are all simple, with the second one being almost redundant because you can do it free-form. However, what would be the difference between using Aerial Dance vs. throwing kunai freeform?

(Ninpo: Kyojin Shuriken no Jutsu) - Ninja Art: Giant Shuriken Technique
Rank: D
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: 20
Description: The user throws a Demon Wind Shuriken towards the enemy and uses his chakra to massively enlarge the shuriken, brutally striking the enemy, sending them flying.
(Ninpo: Kakuu no mai ) - Ninja Art: Aerial Dance
Rank: D
Type: Offensive
Range: short - mid
Chakra cost: 10
Damage points: 20
Description: The user will release several barrages of kunai at their opponent.
(Sōshuriken no Jutsu) - Manipulated Shuriken Techique
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: N/A
Damage points: 15
Description: With this technique a translucent string, both elastic and highly durable, is attached to a shuriken, making it possible to alter its path after having thrown it. An expert will have the ability to freely glide the shuriken in any direction with just a single movement of their fingertip. The first attack, challenging the enemy, is avoided and after a time-lag of several seconds, it will come from behind. Depending on the performance, the possible tactics can be infinite.

This first one has more power, and thus will cause more damage. It's best to use it when the chance of landing the attack is high. Unlike the other two attacks there is no second chance, and there isn't another projectile being thrown. The second technique has multiple projectiles which further decreases the margin of failure. The last technique is my favorite, it can be used a infinite amount of times, however it could also open the user up for an attack. However the benefits far outweigh the risks.

Alright; C-ranks now! Here's the first one which I think is good for creating traps.

A sensor and dojutsu user can detect hidden tags. However, just because they can doesn't mean you can't still utilize an effective strategy. You can control your opponent's movement and place on the battlefield in order to create a more advantageous opening.

(Fuda Kakusu no Jutsu) Tag Hidding Technique
Type: Supplementary
Rank: C-Rank
Range: Short
Chakra: 5 (per tag)
Damage: N/A
Description:
The user will use his chakra to hide a paper tag inside an inanimate object, like the ground or a wall. The tag can be a sealing tag or an explosive tag. The technique can be used to hide more than one tag per use if the user spends more chakra. Hidden tags can be detected by doujutsu or expert sensory ninjas.

I like this technique can control the movements of the opponent. Or basically surround them. Although this technique isn't guaranteed the technique afterwards or the one after that one is. The technique chain will be successful overall.

So here's a bunch of scroll-based ninjutsu techniques. They all summon weapons, but the type and manner of performance varies from technique to technique. These are usually used to pressure an enemy or create Areas of Effect. Some of them can push targets upward or force certain positions/movements depending on how you decide to utilize them. Easy example: I use 'Rising Dragon Dance' to try and make my target dodge towards the right, where I may have a trap that I laid earlier set for them!

Of these six, which ones do you like the best? Tell me why. Also, ask away if you have questions.

(Soryu no Mai) - Rising Dragon Dance
Rank: C
Type: Attack
Range: Short - Long
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: 30
Description: The user jumps up in the air and then spins at high speed throwing a lot of weapons at thier enemy ranging from shuriken, kunai, shuko and many various other weapons.
(Sōgu: Shikyū Geki) - Manipulated Tools: Deadly Spheres Strike
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: 30
Desciption: The user pulls out a scroll and rotates it around himself. Many spiked metal balls burst forth from the scroll to strike any nearby opponents or discourage them from using close ranged attacks.
(Sōgu: Fūjin Heki) - Manipulated Tools: Floating Blades Wall
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: 30
Description: The user unrolls in the floor under the enemy two small scrolls and summons many different weapons from them, taking the enemy into the air. Then they wraps the leg of the enemy with a chain and crushes him back down to the ground.
(Sōgu: Dai Tekkai) - Manipulated Tools: Giant Iron Lump
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: 30
Description:The user takes out a big scroll and waves it in a circle. It turns into a giant chain hammer with a huge metal ball at the end that they then crushes the enemy with. After this move, the chain hammer turns back into a scroll.
(Sōgu: Shu Senjin) - Manipulated Tools: One Thousand Blades Attack
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: 30
Description: This technique is very similar to Twin Rising Dragons, but in this version the user only summons countless kunai from the scrolls, which are connected by strings at thier hands. They then throws all the kunai at the same time on the opponent.
(Kuchiyose: Tetsurensa Housou) - Summoning: Iron Chain Wrapping
Rank: C
Type: Offensive
Range: Short
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: 30
description: The user summons a long chain from a scroll and wraps the enemy with it. When the enemy is trapped, they use another scroll to launch a rain of weapons at the enemy.

I like one thousands blades attack, although all of them are great. One thousand blades gives you the opportunity to manipulate your attack to ensure it hits its mark. Although the other techniques are meant to discourage they're more supplementary than offensive only this a pit stop to meet the goal.

Our next set are three transformation-based ninjutsus, changing one's appearance and even properties. Assimilate All Creation is popular in combination with Earth or other solid elements, allowing you to take on their physical characteristics, from all their strengths to all their weaknesses. So, if you touch a sword with your hand while using this jutsu, your hand/arm will become like steel!

The other two are just fun to use. I think the combination transformation is more useful because it allows you to 'hide' a clone or summon within yourself, meaning that your chakra signatures become one, making it harder for non-sensors to detect their presence. It creates an element of surprise as well.

(Konbi Henge) - Combination Transformation
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost:15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user and either there summon or a partner combine into one transformation.
Note: Must have a summoning or partner to use this jutsu.
(Shinra Banshō Dōka No Jutsu) - Assimilate All Creation Technique
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary/Defense
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user can take on the properties of any earthen material they touch and harden any part of there body. This jutsu also lets the user turn into fine grains of rock that can be used to do another jutsu. The issue with using this technique is that the user will gain all the weaknesses of the material they mimic, even if they are granted their strengths.
(Oiroke No Jutsu - Onna No Ko Doushi & Otoko No Ko Doushi) - Sexy Jutsu Girl Companions & Guy Companions
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points: N/A
Description:The user creates a shadow clone and the user and the clone transform into either two girls or two guys who engage each other in a sexual manner.
