1. Kushina never had control of the Nine-Tails.
2. Someone gotta inform Minato the village is in danger. Otherwise, he'll just be off doing his thing.
3. Ninjas die for their village, but a Ninja would never kill their partner. At least not Kakashi... willingly.
4. They had to push the Nine-Tails out of the village. As a result for handling the "Nine-Tails" they lost the 4th Hokage.
I don't know about you, but in my opinion Rin's death is one of the most illogical events in the entire manga. Normally I defend Kishi's actions, but this time it really seems, as if he made this up on a whim, and he didn't think it through..
Here is why:
1. Seriously, what kind of plan is it, to place a bijuu, which is the most valuable weapon in the village, in a young girl from another village, and even let her know it. Surely will she just run back in fear? Of course not! Shinobi will die for their village, that is why they become shinobi. Nobody is that stupid. Also if they had her captive, why not use her knowledge to infiltrate the village with an actual jinchuriki, that willingly would try to attack the village...
2. Would releasing the Isobu in the middle of Konoha even make a difference? We already saw, that 5 biju's incl. Isobu couldn't even match Kurama. Konoha could handle Kurama with no major damage. They have mighty sealers such as Minato and Hiruzen, and an even stronger jinchuriki. Surely Konoha was in war at the time, but yet, a jinchuriki always remains in the village, and Minato can instantly return to Konoha. Would the Mist not know all this?
I don't know, what you think about it, but it seems way off for Kishi's standard lower limit, IMO.

Not gonna lie. I'd probably go ape s**t on the shinobi world too if I was in Obito's shoes, and Rin was killed in front of me.Rin was always a joke to begin with ....no harm here

Well, so couldn't Kumo, but they just kept trying new vessels hoping for the right one to come a long. A jinchuriki isn't a weapon, unless it can use control the beasts powers to some degree. Throwing it away stupidly like that would be pathetic.1. A weapon isn't a weapon if it isn't being used. THIS is the ONLY way to use a tailed Beast back then if your Jinn did not know how to fully control the beast. Apparently the Hidden Mist Jinns could never be fully in control their beast until Yagura came along. Also, I'm fairly sure the Mist Anbu did not mean for Rin to find out about her new addition to her body, they most likely had her unconscious (or so they thought) during the entire procedure of putting in the 3 tails, but Rin being Rin, found out. *********** version makes it sound that way anway.
Minato alone, as I said, could place 3 toads on it, and he could take away any TBB. And surely Konoha would have a way to notify him, even if he wasn't in town.2. Yes. Yes it would. Because who says the Nine-Tails would fight the 3 tails? Maybe they would, and then maybe the 9 tails would destroy the rest of the town while he was at it. Kushina could not CONTROL the 9 tails. She could only RESTRAIN it.
There is a huge difference. During chunin exam 2 enemy villages already had several shinobi in the core of Konoha, not to mention the fact, that this was Oro's plan, and he had the 2 former kage's. Besides, Gaara is different in that manner, since he wanted to destroy anything around him.I don't see much difference between that and the attack on Konoha during the Chuunin exam - that one also centered around a biju (Gaara's ichibi), and additional support troops. I suspect that using biju in this manner to attack other villages was common practice. If the strategy had succeeded, they would have won and recaptured Rin. It was not likely that Konoha could have extracted and sealed the Sanbi in the midst of an all out attack, and no chance that a new jinchuuriki like Rin could possibly control it.
