Why does society hate nerds?

Society is a big word dude it's not society that hates nerds but those ppl who cannot achieve the intelligence level that "nerds" had . Simply said all retarded people hate nerds because they are somehow better than them...
Nerds didnt make all those stuff.................

well society doesnt hate nerds. . . its just something like the food chain.
imagine animals. they hunt the weak to feed themselves.
in society those who like to pick on people aim for the nerds cuz of their lack of backbone if u know what i mean. Studying doesnt teach you how to be secure of yourself. the perfect pray for bulling.

Yeah I know what you mean.These people dedicate their lives on studying and research for better future.This reminds me of slavery.
I'm not a nerd,but maybe I am.I dont know how to argue for this topic xD i just wanna see others opinion about nerds.

i see nerds in 3 categories...
a) Social nerds - (The Good)
b) Wannabes - (The Bad)
c) Antisocial nerds - (and The Ugly)
The Social Nerd
if anything i am part of group A) computer game loving all round fun guy O_O, quite knowledgable but not one of those you speak to and think, god stfu i don't want to know >.<
basically the social nerd has all the typical mental features of a nerd, without the boring side, and that actually knows how to fit into normal society and have fun (basically accepted by the "cool kids")
The Wannabes
these are a kind of nerd that wishes to join regular society but lack the people skills and mindset. they find freakishly geekish things funny and try to make jokes about them, which even though you understand the joke, it's not funny because it's so lame to be such a nerd about it. the wannabes just long for acceptance neither able to fit in with normal society, the social geeks or Antisocial nerds (because they don't want to be associated with the antisocial Nerds).
The Antisocial Nerds
these are the kinds that always hang around with other nerds... they don't drink, they don't smoke, they don't party or anything. they just sit around talking about WoW all day or playing D&D or whatever nerdish thing they are currently into. they can't fit into normal society and don't even try... this lack of trying is mainly their problem. they correct people over the slightest things constantly and try to make themselves sound superior just because of things only an antisocial nerd would care about.
the anti social nerd can easily turn into a wannabe nerd, however it takes longer and more effort to change their mindset and become a social nerd.

seriously... i hated it when people asked me to do their work... i sometimes helped them, while also telling them they're gonna be a dumb (insert swear here) for the rest of their life...
i used to be lazy at hell... i knew all the maths and science stuff already what they 'taught' at school... so i never did any work or revision... just mess about, often throwing stuff around the classroom xd

Those categories only mentioned bad things about them(some),yet most of them are harmless.'cool' people can do other stuff which are far worst than that,not to mention much unhealthier(?)

i never said they were the worst of society O_O i merely pointed out why they get bad names... trust me... it's never fun with a wannabe in the group and the antisocial can be antisocial if they want... it's their lifestyle choice xd
in actual fact it's probably split in proportions like this
6/10 nerds = social
1/10 nerds = wannabes
3/10 nerds = antisocial
i'm stating why some people may hate them xd
wannabes try to fit in but don't have the required mindsets, which can really kill an atmosphere. where as antisocial nerds are as different to the average party animal as chavs are to goths xd
it's rare to see chavs (aka wangsters to americans or something) hanging around with goths therefore they tend to hate each other through conflicting lifestyle choices. it's as simple as that xd...
and when the antisocial ones or wannabes try to correct you even if they are wrong themselves they often have an ego about them which makes them argue even if their point is mute...
i mean come on... when i went to college, a retard in my college class (he's not a retard, he's awesome but acts dumb as hell... everyone likes him xd) once confused a wannabe in our class by asking him what the square root of potato was... and he tried to answer... that's the different mindset i'm talking about xd
it's like trying to mix oil and water xd
you get different mindsets/personalities, and that in it's own way seperates people. it's just human nature.
oh and i never described who the cool people are... that's set as a social average. most people either define scene/indie/emo kids as the cool group, the other main one is chavs...
in this instance i am describing the 1st, as from my experience chavs just are hooligans on the whole

Smoking and drinking is for one to choose weather to do or not. To be honest i will consider them just ten times smarter then those that drug themselves with the pleasures of the alcohol and the relaxation of smoking ... Smoking doesn't make you smth else it just relaxes you and ruins your organs... Alchol is smth else... Alcohol is just turning on that animal side of yours [dun care bout anything] So do you really think you need that to have fun do you seriously believe this makes you somehow better and more social ? NO ...
It's just you being shy and anti-social person.. that's why alcohol changes you that's why you rely on alcohol in order to have fun instead of blaming and flaming the "Antisocial [as u call them nerds" we better admire them since they dont need that shit to feel good and to have a nice time.

i merely pointed out the difference between their minority and society's current view as a whole of what is classed as cool.
this is just a few of the people which don't have any friends, only a few other of their group and don't go out socialising... the one's that cry and kill themselves over a hacked WoW account... if you have friends and socialise with them (you don't have to drink and smoke...) you are part of the social group... if for some reason you are of the antisocial group and find offense to my comments, you are merely bolstering the fact that you don't like your life...
i never said getting high or taking any kind of drug incl. alcohol and smoking makes you better than other people, i merely stated that most of these people don't, mainly down to lack of peer pressure. smoking and drinking is a lifestyle choice taken by anyone... drinking is only accepted in large amounts if out with friends having a good time, basically partying... if you do it alone, there is little reason in large amounts except drowning your own sorrows at the misery of your own life, or you are an alcoholic. there are many cool people who don't smoke and drink.
that entire section was merely to describe the differences in people in one "classification" and to show they are infact a minority... most nerds are actually alright... it's just a few that give them a bad name.

I suppose that would be the closest description, if I had to pick one, but I would rather stay home and write a spider than go out for a drink (most of the time). Does that make me anti-social?

i was trying to portray, how society views people, if you fit in with normal people then you're social, i just picked the best term i could think of for actually relating to people who may not have such a large interest in complexities xd
