Why do people consider FTG speed?

Whenever someone makes a thread about who's the fastest, people always say it's Minato due to FTG.....FTG is teleportation, it's not Minato himself moving.

It's like saying if a 1997 honda was racing against a Bugatti Veyron in a circuit, and the honda won because it took a shortcut when the Bugatti did the whole lap

That doesn't make the honda faster

This terrible analogy was just to give an example of when people compare Naruto or A's speed to Minato's and that's why I don't consider FTG to be speed.

Minato does indeed have the best reflexes in the manga, but he doesn't have the fastest bodily movement speed.

Anyone else agree? Disagree?

Imo I don't believe he has the fastest reflexes either I would give that to Itachi. Thats just me though I also feel his actual speed is about 3 in stats. Well physical moving speed. Just my opinion.

Speed = Distance / Time

FTG reduces Time to zero

so it would be:

Speed = Distance/0, which is considered undefined, therefore the FTG technique cannot be measured using the Speed formula since It cannot be classified as such

The Entanglement theory in Quantum Physics cant accurately describe this phenomena because it is not comparing the behaviors of two objects that can seemingly 'communicate' without any sort of physical interaction

TC this is what I've been saying too. Minato may have the quickest means to get from point A to B, but TECHNICALLY most people equate speed with acceleration/velocity.

In a FOOT race, I'm sure Minato would lose. FTG still requires you to place a seal/kunai at point B anyway.

Speed is distance traveled in a given set of time. So, yes, teleportation IS speed.

As for your terrible analogy... Yes I would say the Honda got there faster

then you missed the whole point, teleportation makes the distance between two points zero, nothing was traveled

yeah the honda got their faster, but the car itself is slower...if both cars were to race in a straight line with no shortcuts taken, the honda would lose

the shortcut is the same thing as teleportation....it cuts through the original path

He got to point b first, it doesn't matter how. Hence, he WAS faster. the method is faster, but the user is not the one that's moving on his own.

Minato is not running, he is not the one accelerating or moving his body to get to that destination....he can literally sit and warp to that destination.

Thus the example I gave with the cars.....the honda is slower than the bugatti, but it wins because it took a shortcut in the race....but does that make the car itself faster? Only the method

if the honda and the bugatti were to race, then the honda would lose.

Same thing with FTG. It can get you to point A to B in an instant, but if Minato had to race A....he would lose....thus he is not the fastest character

A and Naruto may have speed boosts, but they are still the one that are moving and take no shortcuts.

Most peoples' definition of speed is just getting from point A to point B in the quickest amount of time possible instead of physical movement from one place to another. This is somewhat validated in that Minato is able to travel to point A to point B in no time at all, but it is generally incorrect in that the method of transportation that Minato uses doesn't validate with the actual formula used to determine speed, which is distance/time simply because he can reduce the time variable to 0, making the formula undefined and, therefore, the technique FTG, not quantifiable with speed.

In other words, FTG = fastest mode of transportation, so Minato is technically the fastest in the world in terms of transporting himself from point A to point B

but

FTG =/= speed, so Minato is not the fastest person when it comes to physical speed according to its definition.

Let me define speed for you:
1. Physics The rate or a measure of the rate of motion, especially:
a. Distance traveled divided by the time of travel.
b. The limit of this quotient as the time of travel becomes vanishingly small; the first derivative of distance with respect to time.
c. The magnitude of a velocity.
......
To sum all that into one sentence, speed is how fast you get from point A to point B.....it doesn't matter how you get from one point to the other and who doesn't use things to help their speed....gai and lee use gates, raikage uses lightning shield, and uchihas use sharingan for better reflex.....so Minato IS the fastest
