Garp saying he'll kill Akainu has no factual significance. Luffy screams I'll kick your ass many times even he easily gets crapped on by the admirals.

Because akainu was injured and he def had rage to... also garp is without a doubt a Haki beast so he could hurt akainu unlike Marci and vista

Because Garp and Roger "almost killed" each other many times. We can infer that Garp, in his prime, was almost Roger's level or at least WB's level. Considering that, it wouldn't be a stretch to believe that he could kill an injured Akainu.

Ya'll are trippin. Whitebeard was > or = Garp because according Buggy WB was the only man to clash and cancel out Roger(they were equal). AND he had rage as well because "Akainu killed his son" yet his super haxed attack couldn't kill Akainu

Image. How would it look for a Vice Admiral with a reputation like Garp's to be attacking an Admiral? People would lose faith in the Navy, and they can't have that. This can also easily be interpreted as Sengoku saving Garp's life rather than Sengoku stopping Garp from killing Akainu. This shit ain't evidence of nothing.

He has the ability but the main point is, he was going to catch him off-guard/defenseless and I believe Garp's full strength Haki punch can seriously fu*k up anybody, if that anybody is Admiral level but doesn't have a clue that he's going to get served some justice unknowingly...

In defence, yeah the health reduced WB it was stated. Nothing was stated about health reducing his attack potency

Roger said it himself that Garp and Roger "almost killed" each other several times. He wouldn't be almost killed by someone 3 tiers below him. You are using old Whitebeard, who got stabbed before he started the battle, who was attacked when he was having an heart attack as a reference. Regarding his strongest attack, consider his physical state then. Sengoku had said his attacks depend upon his physical state. Also, Whitebeard did not check upon Akainu after he had fallen into the crevice. If WB had checked up on him, and decided to kill him, Akainu would be a goner. Akainu took 1 chapter to recover from it.

Maybe, maybe not that's for another time but it did affect his ability to attack even if it didn't affect his attacks themselves. Garp would be able to attack more consistently and therefore apply more pressure.
