Easy because garp is a haki demi god and he was able to slap marco when kizaru couldnt hurt him and marco was also able to counter akainus atk but not even sense garp which means garp is comfortbably above admiral lvl. Garp going full power would be more than enough for akainu

Who gives a damn about a bruise? Luffy busted Garp's head open, you think Marineford Luffy is closer to Garp than Garp is to Marco? Get this nonsense outta here, B
lol u really comparing luffy hitting garp to garp hitting marco lol when garp closed his eyes and defered his attack from luffy who wasnt even looking just punching hoping to hit garp but marco going in to save ace in his Phoenix form and was slapped to the ground without even seeing garp and he could use haki which means he had observation haki and still didnt sense garp so gtfoh. And after luffy punched garp he looked at luffy and just let himself fall still receiving no dmg at all so all that head bussing shit is fanfic

You can't bring Luffy punching Garp into this. That fight was thrown by Garp, who took the blow without trying to stop it, and after he fell Sengoku called him out, saying "Even you are still a father, Garp". If it was a full-on fight, not just a single punch, then that would be a valid argument.

I'm inclined to think that it would be a pretty close fight. Garp has experience and potentially superior Haki, as has been claimed earlier in this thread. Akainu has a very powerful Logia that can lay waste to the battlefield, and is arguably in his prime, or just past it. If they were both as combat-ready as they could be, health-wise, I'd wager it could go either way, objectively.

I agree except the fact that akainu would even stand a chance garp is arguably wb lvl without the sickness it was stated that garp equals roger and roger equals wb at his prime so it's safe to say garp equals wb and its also safe to say he wasnt sick am i right? And wb curbstomped akainu and akainu got a lucky punch but it was stated wb couldnt stop atks he normally would because he was sick. U see where im going with this? Garp would be that wb without the sickness against akainu . he would lay waste to him really

You very much can. Many people like to note that Marco was essentially blindsided by Garp. He basically had no defenses up for the punch that Garp delivered and ended up taking it head on. Someone failing to throw up a defense because they were surprised is no different fundamentally from them just choosing not to throw up a defense at all.

And that shows why the bruising to Marco doesn't mean jack shit. Fundamentally, Garp having no defenses up for Luffy's punch because he was throwing the fight is no different than Marco having no defenses up for Garp's punch because it was coming by surprise due to the fact that both, at the end of the day, didn't have up defenses. If you want to hold relevance to something as stupid as a bruise, then that means Luffy is closer to Garp than Garp is to Marco because Garp only made a bruise on Marco while Luffy made blood spew from Garp's mouth and forehead.

And wb curbstomped akainu and akainu got a lucky punch
The irony here is that WB's "curbstomp" only happened because he jumped Akainu. Whitebeard's punch was the cheap hit, not Akainu's retaliation to it. And that "curbstomp" couldn't even stop Akainu from continuing to fight in the war just as hard as, if not harder, than before.

Garp is vice admiral because he ddnt want any more promotions. He liked his freedom this has been implied.
Garp is I would say is at Sengoku's level who is fleet admiral. Based on feats alone.
Akaino Loses. Its simple.

Because if they aren't swallowing Zoro, they're swallowing the older generation.

Image. How would it look for a Vice Admiral with a reputation like Garp's to be attacking an Admiral? People would lose faith in the Navy, and they can't have that. This can also easily be interpreted as Sengoku saving Garp's life rather than Sengoku stopping Garp from killing Akainu. This shit ain't evidence of nothing.
he only a vice admiral because he turned down the admiral postion he could even have been fleet commander if he wanted it

The lack of logic here is strong. You're equating two completely different scenarios, Marco with his df is the type of guy that can take all sorts of hits even when he is blindsided. An admiral like kizaru decided he should get help to cuff up Marco to injure him when Marco turned his back on him. But Garp got him with a simple punch when he was in full Phoenix form, this is Oda hyping up Garp. If Garp had the opening kizaru did Marco would get pinned down. You keep trying to twist every argument but lack fundamental reasoning as usual.

Garp is the only marine who cornered roger. Roger is the PK.We all know garp is strong and has haki.He can kill akainu no matter how akainu fanboys think about it

Roger/wb/garp>akainu.
Akainu is strong But if you have strong haki you can fight him.

None of this is proof of anything.
There's no proof for either side as it's a purely hypothetical scenario. There's no proof he could or couldn't just like there's no actual proof Sengoku stopped him for image reasons and not because he'd have lost an Admiral. It's all conjecture and interpretation of the manga, some can see Sengoku stopping Garp as an attempt at saving face, some can see him doing it because he'd have lost Akainu there's no proof either way it's decided by how the reader chooses to see it.

Well excuse the shit out of me. Allow me to rephrase: None of what he said directly translates as support that Garp beats Akainu.

One thing is certain it's that oda showed garp even at his old age to be in a similar level to the admirals. No one could swat Marco like that not even kizaru when Marco completely turned his back on him. There should no be doubt that garp is an individual who belongs in the top tier in MF.
