Why do people assume that if you read a manga you have to like the MC?

Well not really, not every manga is like Naruto's, In Naruto he's the center of mostly everything, and gets most of the shine, but in some other manga's that's not always the case, Espically in kuroko no basket or Hunter x Hunter, everyone gets alot of shine and and alot of characters are in use

Only mai chars (from this type of fiction) i am actually fan of are Elric Bros and Kuroko.

Well their are a lot of Series that is not always "Main character centric", One piece, Hunter x Hunter, Kuroko, Magi, but Kishi mostly makes everything centered around Naruto all the time, and barely uses other characters, he didn't do this before, but it mostly started in this war

Those are just idiots don't listen to them. However, on the other hand you can't complain about giving all the spotlight to Naruto because as the manga is named after, it's called "NARUTO".

Yes most people read Naruto because they enjoyed something in part 1 that shippuden couldn't offer, we want to see Konoha11 and other Shinobi that deserve some spotlight. Yet instead, Kishi decided to shove his series down to throat into making the central focus around Naruto chasing Sasuke which has been overused for the majority of the time. Naruto hogging all the spotlight really brings down to the drain, we don't like how Naruto always butts in everyone business.

Naruto as a character is a hypocrites, he goes from being a Hardworker into becoming the predestined propheciesed NaruJesus which absolute ruined his characterization. Naruto as a character is a joke, he's boring and stale. I never find anything impressive with his powerups and I betcha us fans are sick and tired of his jesus power.

When those rookies do get time to shine, it's always revolve around Naruto, I mean look at Hinata, her purpose existence of the story is mainly due to Naruto. Kishi doesn't give a shit to other character anymore. The only decent screen time is Team Asuma.

This series mainly this war arc ruined it almost completely and this is just plain sad.

Disliking the main char, as others have said, WILL make the manga much less enjoyable though. That's pretty much a fact. It's one thing to not care about him but if you dislike him then yeah, you're in for one abstract ride.

I agree. Narutos lameness almost made me drop the series. Thank you Sasuke. I've still enjoyed the story while disliking the MC which is completely possible. The things that made him tolerable was always being around Kakashi or having the fox save him. Narutos enemies are a lot more interesting than him as well.
