Why do people assume that if you read a manga you have to like the MC?

So, does that mean that if I read Kuroko no Basuke then I have to like Kuroko?
So, does that mean if I read Bleach that I have to like Ichigo?
So, does that mean if I read One Piece that I have to like Luffy?
So, does that mean that if I watch Yu Yu Hakusho that I have to like Yusuke?
So, does that mean that if I read Attack on Titan that I have to like Eren?
So, does that mean if I watch Dragonball Z then I have to like Goku?

But what really gets me is that Naruto fan or fanboys in general like to bring in the stupid argument of liking Naruto or just dropping the series and not reading it altogether. So they are basically implying that Naruto is the only character in the story so therefore if you don't like Naruto then you are wasting your time with the whole series. So basically they get upset when someone doesn't like the character Naruto so they just tell you to drop it if you don't like him.

What I'm getting from all this is that most Naruto fans are running out of arguments so they have to resort to this flawed one.

When we had few chapters of flashbacks during his fight with Itachi/Sasuke i was barely going through those.
