Who Would Have Won the Chunin Exams?

If Sauske and Gaara's match was not interrupted, who do you think would have gone on to win the Chunin Exams?

Bonus: Who do you think was ready to be promoted to Chunin, besides Shikamaru?

problem is, Sasuke only has limited chidori uses and they're his only hope of winning. If Gaara kept himself shrouded in his sphere, Sasuke has to defeat him with his second chidori, or he is done for, Based on the damage the first one did, I can't see it defeating Gaara.

Sasuke was already tiring himself out in his first assault on Gaara, before he used a single chidori

The longer he uses that level of speed, The slower he will become and the more chidori's he used the slower he will be. In the end while gaara will take alot of damage, Due to the style sasuke needs to defeat him, Sasuke simply won't have the stamina to go long distance.

I don't think so. Gaara did fall unconscious just at the sight of seeing his own blood iirc. Sasuke won that fight imo but lost against 1/4 transformed Jin Gaara.

shukaku only appeared after the chidori had landed, Which forced sasuke to remove his hand from the sphere, Sasuke should think himself lucky gaara didn't crush him arm like he did Lee instead of shukaku's arms appearing.

Or they declare Sasuke the winner while Gaara is trying to release his bijuu. There's a reason they started the assault on konoha early because Gaara was forced into a desperate situation by Sasuke

Also he wasn't forced into a desperate situation by sasuke, At least it wasn't the reason for him opting for shukaku. He took a much greater beating from Gated Lee when he did from base sasuke's taijutsu. Things only got desperate for him after chidori landed and wounded him.

The reason for him going the shukaku route was more his thirst for Blood and his murder boner sasuke rather than being backed into a corner.

Agreed bro, Gaara was finished after that. That's why he and the sand siblings had to retreat if he was capable of continuing there would never have been a need for it.

False Sasuke was the 1st one to break through his sand armour and make him bleed. GAARA ran away so he can recover while Sasuke chased him down. Sasuke was the clear winner in that fight

[The Paradox]

If you are to go to any rank above genin, you need to be well balanced and possibly an expert in some sort of way. You need to be able to be on your own or lead if you need to. That takes skill, power, and the right mind-set. So. I think Shikamaru was the only one prepared to be a chunin, both skill wise and in his mind-set. People that probably came close were: Neji, Naruto, and Sasuke.

Neji was the closest one IMO to getting it.. the only thing that stood in his way was Naruto beating him in the final round. It's not that he lacked skill or anything, that's just how it went.. which possibly is due to him being distracted with the whole Hyuga destiny thing.

Sasuke is behind Neji. He certainly was smart enough and had the skills to be a chunin.. but he teetered on both having the mind-set for it and not. Just like how Kakashi confronted Boruto saying he is skilled enough, but doesn't have the right mind for it.. Sasuke lacked the real willingness to work with a team (even be in charge of one).

Naruto is the only other one that had potential to become a chunin. He defeated Neji and demonstrated his will of fire. He has the power of a chunin, but lacks the maturity needed to pull off certain missions if he were to be in charge of a team or on his own.

False Sasuke was the 1st one to break through his sand armour and make him bleed. GAARA ran away so he can recover while Sasuke chased him down. Sasuke was the clear winner in that fight

He didn't "run away" to recover from the attack.

The problem with Gaara was due to him suffering a reaction by his transformation being interrupted.

Sasuke. In the exams he had Gaara beat then Gaara fainted a little while after when they fled. If all went different he would have fainted mid stadium. Sasuke vs Naruto in the finals = Sasuke's win.

I don't see Naruto getting past Shino intelligence and bugs or Temari's intelligence and wind techs. I think it would've been a Shino Sasuke final.

Yeah. But would Sasuke at that point really be able to beat the sheer numbers of Naruto's shadow clones? The number thing could have been successful against Neji if Neji didn't have a defensive move in Rotation. Sasuke has no defensive move, can't tell which Naruto would be the original and at that point couldn't spam chidori..

The problem with Gaara is what exactly? He was no longer able to fight during mid fight. How long are you going to keep making excuses for someone who ran away from a battle and couldn't continue fighting at the time
