Dan died during the second shinobi world war, and interesting fact, the day that dan died is the day tsunade got that fear for blood and she never fought in another battle. Its unclear at what point in time that could be, but most shinobi legends are gotten at the end of the war, like kakashi of the sharingan for example was obtained at the end of the third war.

Hiruzen is better than Hashirama. Dan was not around for Hiruzens prime. Plus Hiruzen is better matched to fight the first. He has powerful fire along with Enma which nullified WS.

Your right, its not like it was stated he was the God of Shinobi in his prime and the strongest hokage konoha ever had. (notice the sarcasm). Its not like he was stated to be the strongest hokage at his death either.

The edo tensei's weren't even weaker.. they look weaker because of the change from part 1 to part 2.... Orochimaru's edo tensei's were perfected..., power levels just changed.. which is how flower world etc came into play... back in part 1 , tobirama's biggest feat was spitting water from his mouth and making a water jutsu.. which had orochimaru and the anbu people in awe...
Now i can call like 100 ninjas who did that exact same thing in part 2...

I've said already if kishi rewrote that, it would be different of course.. But it's the feat you have to look at... Old hiruzen still bested 2 perfected Edo tensei's.... that's like kakashi going up against edo muu and mizukage, without them speaking and telling him their weaknesses

I agree with you, although maybe they were just toying with him in the genjutsu. Hiruzen didn't give them much opportunity to toy with him in their ninjutsu/taijutsu battle. Even orochimaru feared hiruzen when emna came to play.

As soon as he was in it, they could have killed him... stay from afar and use long range jtusu.... But they came up close and used taijutsu...

That's not really the point I was trying to make, I was referring to the bold part, you said "the Edo Tensei's weren't weaker" which is true however, what I am trying to prove here is the fact how the Hokages may have not been at full power in the battle to begin with, if they have the ability to toy with their enemies (Orochimaru controlling them high likely) then why isn't possible for them to toy with Hiruzen before.

And if it is the case of Orochimaru controlling the Edo Tensei's then that can mean that the Hokages are infact weaker because of how Orochimaru doesn't know what they're fully capable of (abilities and techniques) aside from their "famous" attacks like for example Hashirama Senju's Jukai Koutan, it's obvious you yourself know more about others know about you.

Anyhow I really can't think today so chances that I didn't make any sense is really big, I'm really tired.

this was in the beginning of the series. thats why im askin if it's iruka who said it since obviously i forgot about it and it's way back. it's only naruto ... it's not like this manga/anime is my whole life.

all kishi needs to do is show sarutobi in his prime, cause his feat in part one no one can take that from him and the guy was pushing 70 at the time.
