It was never said Shanks defeated Kaido.

Besides, Kaido is suicidal. All his losses could just be him giving up hoping the entity he's fighting could kill him.

OT: it's a close call between kaidou and shanks, but even after shanks confronted kaidou he appeared at marinefold in record time and with little to no scratches. Kaidou has hype but it's not on shanks' level of hype unless shanks somehow got weaker over the time skip due to partying too much

He got scars from pre tym skip BB and you are claiming him strong without any feats.

What is this? How do people think Kaido is stronger when he's been defeated by Shanks?

To get rid of the doubts, Shanks never defeated Kaidou. Characters who have been off panel for over a decade, I don't understand how readers can simply say this defeated that. Luffy's battles always get documented, but this Yonkou we talk about. Miraculously to see all Edward's current battles, but not the ones during Roger's era and post-Roger (before Marineford).

Kaido is obviously stronger.

Unless Shanks was holding back not to kill Kaidou to keep world's balance stable while Whitebeard is there in Marineford.

After getting this much evidence, this is still happening. At this rate even if kaido were to defeat shanks head on in the manga, people would still refuse Kaido's superiority strength wise.

I still believe that Kaido's title doesn't include humans but I'll go with Kaido for now to avoid pointless discussions. Even the statement in VIZ is ambiguous but whatever, it's not like I have problems with Kaido being strongest or anything.
