I would vote Itachi as the best in genjutsu over Shishui..If your thread is about who have the most powerful genjutsu then id choose Shishui...im new here by the way so Hello everyone =)

Shisui has the most powerful (arguably) Genjutsu.

Itachi is BETTER at using Genjutsu than him.

How can you be so sure. It was stated that Shisui was like a older brother to Itachi (Older brother teaches younger brother things). He was known as having the most powerful genjutsu technique and extremely skilled at Body Flicker (Fact). Just answer this how can you master the most powerful genjutsu without knowing other less powerful genjutsu. Just because you never seen a character in action use your imagination.

Bee says that and Itachi doesn't disagree with him. He even add that his eyes were able to create the most powerful genjutsus. It's clear that Shisui was his mentor, he even says on the same page that Shisui taught him things like self-sacrifice as a shinobi. Itachi probably looked Shisui as a model. Whether you like it or not, manga stated Shisui was the best in illusion and manga>your opinion

It's been shown that Kotoamatsukami is arguably one of the most powerful Genjutsu around, as stated by Itachi himself. Shisui is also said to have been somewhat of a mentor figure to Itachi and wouldn't that mean that he was stronger.
Just because Shisui has had only a side-role in the anime/ manga and his true skills haven't been shown doesn't mean he's automatically weak. Seriously.....

He never encountered Madara. He thought Tobi was Madara, so when he says that, he was talking about Tobi. Also, he encountered Tobi during the Uchiha massacre and at that time, Shisui was already dead, so it's not impossible that Shisui was his mentor when he was alive, and Tobi became his mentor after that

I never said he was weak. I agreed that KA is a powerful Genjutsu but Itachi is more proficient in Genjutsu itself.

From what we DO KNOW, it's clearly Itachi. 5 in the databook, praised as a master of it, and he possessed Kotoamatsukami and an unbreakable Tsukuyomi.
