who has better anallysys, kakashi or itachi?

There is a difference between someone who know's someone's abilities and being able to overpower them, than having to come up with a strategy to turn the battle in your favour because you don't have the ability to over power them ...

Itachi's plan that he set out for Sasuke was simple .... Make him hate you so he would want revenge, Doesn't seem that genius to me ...

People say he was so smart to plan out the fight? I think you will find he never planed the fight out .. He knew he could over power sasuke due to him having "MS", he was able to last the distance with sasuke and die by sasuke's hand .. which was more likely he died with no chakara left...

People call itachi a genius but there is also a misconception sometimes... Sure he's smart but a lot of the time he get's referred to as a "Genius" Purely because of his powerfull abilities ... Think back to the Sannin- Showdown... Jiriya said "What's the point, in training a boy that was born a genius" He was referring to Sasuke "Sharingan", Don't get me wrong itachi is smart but don't think because people call him a genius he's the more intelligent... Kakashi is older and wiser ... With a lot more experience in battle

Pretty much they're even in that field. Both intelligence wise and analytical skills.
- Itachi found the weakness to Chibaku Tensei and immediately crafted a counterattack.
- Kakashi found the weakness to Shinra Tensei and also immediately crafted a counterattack.
One was successful while the other was not as successful but did still prove to aid the village(taking out Asura Path, one less pain in the ass). IMO there is no real difference between the two in this case seeing that one could easily outsmart the other by properly analyzing their performed jutsus.

Going by ur feats, kakashi died in order to figure out one of peins abilities, where as itachi blocked the vision field and discerned CHIBAKU TENSEI at a glance going by feats itachi is slightly smarter IMO even though we have seen more of kakashi.

I can talk and talk, but ill try and make is quick. First thing that people confuse is intelligence and natural talent. Seems this thread is about genius i take it the op means intelligence therefore this is what ill say.

He was the only person in the whole of konoha which is made up of many various clans who sensed obito/madara and itachi isnt even a senser. Second is that he was able to monitor obito/madara whilst obito didnt know spot itachi. Third is that he was able to agree a deal with obito/masked man to help him kill the uchiha clan, but at the same time obito wouldnt touch konoha. This is a feat that a 12 year was able to accomplish.

Second is that during his introduction he was able to made a very quick tactic stragetgy and anaylsed kakashi, telling kisame that in a fight he would suffer unnecessary injuries. This later included the fact that he decided to flee rather than fight anbu, though some can same because his initial reason for konoha was for something else.

Third is the fact that he had planned his fight with sasuke. To push him whilst at the same time not kill him, that is a very difficult thing to do. In fact all of itachi's fights he has had to fight for other reasons rather than putting his opponents in a box and this ability is very rare and yet he has always achieved the desired outcome one way or another. Its easy to fight to kill because you are not restricted however fighting for other purposes always makes life difficult.

Then there is his fight against kabuto. Itachi had already analysed the situation even before kabuto started talking nonsense about him being closest to the sage, how he is immune to physical damage and how edo tensei ninja's are his pawns and started the loop of izanami in

. He had already picked out a technique in his arsenal which would bring kabuto down but at the same time not kill him, from the very start of the fight. Very good quick thinking and summary of kabuto that itachi did, something that people seem to forget.

I chose Kakashi simply because he doesn't get a lot of respect, but I agree that he and Itachi are on par with each other.

I think it is really hard to say. Itachi basically predicted the whole fight with Sasuke, and it ended up just as he wanted. he has also shown his skills of analysis in other areas, but I won't go into it right now. Kakashi on the other hand also is a quick thinker and has outsmarted Itachi before, but he was also sort of outsmarted by Naruto and Sakura. I would have to say they are just about equal, given the situation. Good thread

Hmm, I think Itachi would be fine against Kamui... For one Deidara was able to escape it, and we all know Itachi>Deidara. Also with Itachi's vast knowledge of the sharingan and susano'o, I think he can get around Kamui.

so this time, itachi fanboys, i want feats please.

kakashi's feats:
his fight against deva and asura, with the chains and all that to immobilize deva
when deva launched a nail to his head, and he used kamui to pretend his death
his plan against obito, with the kamui and naruto's rasengan, awesome anallyisis of the situation
his plan against zabuza, (edo zabuza) with the yamanaka and nara clan, to find zabuza in the mist.

overall his fight with obito, that was so awesome

In their battle b4, itachi just looked at him and he was down.

Now, even if Kakashi used kaumi, I believe that Itachi is too fast for him. Even if he could get a lock-on with Kaumi thought I think that Itachi could use Amaterasu on him before getting hit with Kaumi.

** Ack I forgot, when Sasuke was fighting Kakashi, Sasuke asked Kakashi if he could extinguish his complete Susanoo. Even Kakashi was thinking "I'm ****ed" so Itachi's would probably have the same effect as apparently Kaumi cannot warp things past another object.
