really all i rember is itachi successfully stalling and outsmarting team 7 + chiyo with a shadow clone at 30 percent.

Do you know the difference between fighting someone and outsmarting someone? When did he outsmarted them? Himself said that Kakashi outsmarted him with a KB, but of course you can deny facts if you want

What people don't understand is that Kakashi is not a Uchiha, so it's normal that Itachi knew some Uchiha secrets that Kakashi could not know. Itachi has the tablett which could inform him from everything that happened in the Uchiha history, so Izanami, Izanagi, Madara history, and even Rikudoo sennin included. The fact he already knew all that, the fact he was a Uchiha who knew that they were attempting a coup d'etat greatly helped him to analyse the situation and prepare a plan, but in Kakashis case, who didn't knew all those thing, but it's easy to understand that he simply didn't care that much, he simply had no idea of a plan. That's why i don't understand when people talk about the plan Itachi made ahead and Kakashi didn't to say who is more analytic or intelligent. To measure who is more analytic or intelligent or even tactical, we can only see it in a situation were both are included or in different fights for example, and in fights, Kakashi impressed me more. He has shown much more tactical feats and even against Itachi, we've seen that he was able to outsmart him

I agree .... Kakashi has came out almost all of his fights because he can asses any situation and come up with strategy/plan very quickly. Itachi hasn't shown anything that would say he's smarter or more intelligent than kakashi.

Yep it's a perfectly valid explanation. His task was to stall the team, but he did not want to kill or hurt any of them. Why would he try his best to win a fight like this? Of course he had to do something to keep up his cover but probably wanted to loose from the very beginning.

How does he do that? stand there and throw out some fireballs / genjutsus for a while then somehow try to loose while making it look legitimate - making it look like kakashi outsmarted him.

Not so hard to understand......

Anyway Itachi had to find a way of loosing the battle and making it seem legitimate, he couldn't just get hit by a kunai because that would be strange. I am saying Itachi willingly handed the win to team 7 and that last move may well have been planed out as a good way to keep his cover up while loosing the battle.
