What is more dangerous, marijuana or alchohol?

Ok so I think this can make a great discussion. What do you think is more dangerous of the two. And I have another question, why is alcohol legal if it kills tons of people(intoxication, drunk driving), and marijuana illegal if people rarely die smoking it?

Beacuse some people don't know how to drink ,come here and i'll teach you ,how to drink without getting drunk.

Alcohol is far more dangerous

Compare the two long term

20 years of smoking pot every day vs 20 years of drinking everyday

20 years of pot: short term memory affected, possible stress increase(easily agitated) decreased lung function and other mild effects with the nervous system such as slowed reaction time(usually under influence, long term or not..) Chances of overdose: 0.000000000001%, you can't overdose on marijuana, the amount of THC required to cause "overdose" effect cannot be obtained in any consumption form of Pot, you will pass out before you ever get close to the level required, it is said it would require 15 pounds of pot within a 72 hour period to get to "overdose" level, which is impossible even if you smoke a joint every 2 minutes for 72 hours, it won't even be a pound..

20 years of alcohol: liver damage, colon damage, high blood pressure, brain damage, decreasing motor function, stomach damage among more effects, you can die from alcohol poisoning quite easily, 21 shots is enough to kill you, you can wreck or be hit by a drunk driver and kill you/them
You can argue pot smokers wreck too, but drunk drivers kill more people then legitimate accidents every year

Why is pot illegal? Because its too hard to tax and regulate, Marijuana has been legal twice in this country, it was legal to begin with and was a gift from Turkey's leader to the President (i don't have a clue which president) and a propaganda explosion occured over Mexican immigrants, they then put out false information stating Marijuana caused people to go insane, kill there parents, rape women etc..and that it was all coming from Mexico

After being illegal the first time they revoked it slightly after they revoked alcohol's illegal status and for much of the 1960s it was legal, it was made illegal again a few years after Woodstock, after all the bad stuff that happened there due to Acid and Sexual abuse

Fun fact: J Edgar Hoover (first director of FBI and later president) was given the task of eradicating Marijuana the first time, and while having an interview in Missiouri on a highway bridge overlooking hills of Pot he gave the statement; "They have given me an impossible task, they want me to get rid of a plant that grows everywhere"

Alcohol is by far more dangerous your average everyday celebrity smokes frequently. Not just rappers and musicians but actors writers and comedians too. However they function normally. The so called side effects are greatly exaggerated. It all comes down to control in two ways. 1) Control of the sale, who grows it, and the taxes.(Most people cant make alcohol themselves) 2) Control over the voting population (Politicians have to keep it legal to get votes from the people who consider its consumption to be dangerous or immoral)

With that said it all boils down to one thing control. They want to control everything we do. Big brother is watching.

I've never tried ethier one but I do know there are more deaths related to drinking than smoking marijuana. I remember hearing that smoking marijuana a few times a month can actually make you smarter.

Alcohol kills more people than Weed, there is no doubt... but 99.9% of the kills are driving.. that has nothing to do regarding if alcohol or marijuana ALONE kills any human. :shrug:

The second point is 95%< people drink alcohol and a very slow percentage (all over the world) smoke weed. IMO the weed is way more dangerous than the alcohol. the way you feel when someon smoke a WHOLE joint of weed the first time.. thats a real bomb lol xD

I am not a fan of either one. Alchohol, because well it is just awful. So many bad things happen because of alcohol.

Weed on the other hand has only slight negative effects physically (kills some brain cells and obviously the smoking doesn't help your lungs), but it is more the way people act while using it that bothers me. People can't learn to just deal with things so they always seek a retreat, I don't get why they can't just deal with the world the way it is, but oh well at least weed isn't as bad as alcohol.

Something being legal or illegal doesn't change the qualities of it, so your argument is nullified.
