Ok so I think this can make a great discussion. What do you think is more dangerous of the two. And I have another question, why is alcohol legal if it kills tons of people(intoxication, drunk driving), and marijuana illegal if people rarely die smoking it?
Alcohol is by far the most dangerous substance in terms of deaths due to people being negligent while under the influence.
In terms of deaths due to alcohol consumption on the body, it's second, behind tobacco.
Marijuana has never been responsible for death while under the influence or death because of bodily harm because of the effects of Marijuana.
Alcohol is legal because lawmakers decided to give it a pass after Prohibition. Marijuana is not legal atm because no lawmakers dare to construct legislation for it at the federal level, even though legalizing, regulating, taxing, and producing Marijuana is in the best interest of everyone.
It's just lazy and/or fearful lawmakers. In my state a year ago, they were trying to pass laws to legalize it, but no one knew it was happening, so it failed in the polls.
