What is more dangerous, marijuana or alchohol?

Ok so I think this can make a great discussion. What do you think is more dangerous of the two. And I have another question, why is alcohol legal if it kills tons of people(intoxication, drunk driving), and marijuana illegal if people rarely die smoking it?

Weed has never killed anyone, alcohol has killed millions......DIFFERENCE!

Alcohol is hard to produce and easy to tax. Weed is easy to produce and hard to tax.

Weed was only made illegal because a governor was using it as his campaign propaganda to get votes saying that weed made mexicans come to america and rape white women and he would stop it if he got elected so he pressured a law into being enacted against it.

Alcohol is kept legal because they tried once to illegalize it and it caused way more problems than the government could handle. Too many people are heavily dependent on drinking.

Ignorance is a big problem like people who say the suck -____- but really no one knows. You should stay away fr both until you're in your twenties IMO, but as to why Marijuana is illegal when alcohol is more dangerous and legal no one knows. Especially when BILLIONS of dollars could be made on taxing Marijuana. It already is the US' number 1 cash crop ahead of corn. I like both personally I'm all for legalization but some people don't like it and maybe think it is bad for society. I get it but it is largely based on ignorance - people are uneducated. Now excuse me while I light this spliff.

If the government grew mass amounts of dank ass chronic, and sold it to us, then used that money to help get the economy flowing, the recession we were in could end. Government scientists with good facilities could easily grow mass amounts of killer weed, and make trillions off it, but they just wont do it.

Weed may have a mental addiction, but no physical addiction. I can easily smoke for a year strait then stop with no issues, yet with drinking for a week strait leaves me in bed for 3 days when I stop. Quitting pills almost killed me when I stopped and I started those because I was prescribed them.

This is false, they are both bad for you but in different ways. There are studies done on the amount of damage done to your body by drinking I suggest you look at them.

It really depends on the method of consumption, if you are Only ingesting (eating) marijuana then you circumvent all the lung related dangers of use. Lots of people use vaporizers which are both more effective and highly less dangerous to your lungs. Also alcohol is chemically more addictive I suggest you look these things up on the Internet. No one has overdosed on marijuana but lots of people get alcohol poisoning.

Depends on the person really, its not a narcotic, sure the people
that abuse it are dumb, I'm an attendance T.A. at my school
and its easy to tell if someone is at home doing
pot based on there truancy and grade drops,
but it does help, god i feel like i'm
advertising right now. I see your point though.
