i was thinking this and then there would still be another generation trying to do another coup.yes they would grow up to be evil people too once they found out why everyone else died just like sasuke did

A few hundred. That apparently means those murdered include children and elderly people. How unfair. Preemptive strike they might call it.Probably a few hundred. Tobi assisted if I remember correctly.
I have no idea where those Uchiha police were during the attack by nine-tails. But not all Uchihas were gifted with sharingan, right? Itachi was very young then.This. ^^^
Couldnt another sharingan user just control the fox as well?
That suggests the clan was very very small..... Which makes sense but to be the youngest as well? Even if there are only 90+ Clan members that's saying something i wonder if the Uchiha are dying or were dying out anyway? As the blood became more thinned over time perhaps?sasuke and itachi was the youngest of the clan at that time. it says that in the databooks
itachi being 13 and sasuke being 7
itachi hadn't sluagterd a single child or anyone younger than him so thats false
It was that or the death and endangerment of tens of thousands since the Fourth WW would have broken out. Yes it's terrible, but it was the only solution. It's one of those "impossible decisions" Itachi mentioned to Naruto that shinobi had to make sometimes. And in many ways, the Uchiha brought it upon themselves.A few hundred. I am unable to comprehend how Uchiiha's revolting against Konoha would result in a World War. A single clan capable of overthrowing Konoha Village / Fire country and bringing allied countries into war? Yet that clan was wiped out by a few fellows. They wouldn't have been able to overthrow Konoha. However, they'd have been sufficient enough to start an ongoing civil war and would have been weakened enough that other Great Nations would have taken the opportunity to attack them while they were dealing with an internal battle according to Tobi, which the Elders also believed.I am unable to comprehend how Uchiiha's revolting against Konoha would result in a World War. This is something that I've thought about for a long time, and honestly I don't think it was necessary. It would have been enough to kill just the men who were participating in the uprising and leave the women and the children.I would like to have Your opinion on this:
The Uchiha clan was killed off because they were trying to take over the village.
But the whole clan was eradicated! Not even children were spared (minus Sasuke). Was that necessary?
Itachi killed his girlfriend there's a high chance of her being younger then he is.sasuke and itachi was the youngest of the clan at that time. it says that in the databooks

Yeah I agree with this. It seems the Uchihas as whole were distrusted because of the Madara issue. They were ignored and isolated. The Uchihas were for power. Were they evil ? I don't know. The third could have made one of the Uchihas the Fifth. But he alone can't make that decision. There were two types of solutions for the Uchiha problem: First is to kill them because they are planning a rebellion. Second is to take some of their concerns seriously and stop anti-Uchiha discrimination.
Here are a few things that could have helped prevent the massacre:
1) The third hokage can pick an Uchiha to be the fifth hokage, to end the perception that the Senju are trying to control the Uchiha. Itachi or even Shusui make obvious choices. The third hokage could have taken those two under his direct training and when they were ready handed the village over to one of them.
While this idea does sound good, it is not. There were two types of solutions for the Uchiha problem: First is to kill them because they are planning a rebellion. Second is to take some of their concerns seriously and stop anti-Uchiha discrimination.

These are just a few ideas, and I think the first one is the best. Imagine if the third hokage came out and said that Itachi was going to become the fifth hokage. Do you think the Uchiha would have still tried to revolt if an Uchiha face was carved into the stone mountain behind them? I don't think so. Itachi and Shusui and maybe a handful of others might have been qualified for it, especially with some dedicated training from the third hokage and other powerful ninja.
not everyone in the clan is a shinobi, I doubt a couple of old shopkeepers really would have posed such a threat to konoha, plus they wanted to kill Sasuke too, even though he was completely innocent. Do you just kill people because they might commit a crime in the far future? No. and if Danzo wasn't an idiot and stole Shisui's eye, him Itachi and some other anbu could have easily defeated the coup since they already knew about it. The onyl reason Sasuke became such an avenger is because Itachi conditioned him to be one.and the remnants would have sworn a vendetta and the whole thing would escalate again it had to be all or none
and since when were women children and the elderly defenceless in this series?
and if the elders didn't make itachi do it there would have been blood in the streets soon enough
(and people are saying that itachi and sasuke were the youngest of the clan im not a 100% on that)
you wouldn't be saying that if were you, how you feel if people tried to kill you just for being related to someone else, or if you had beef with someone and they tried to kill your younger brother even though he's completely innocent?Yes, IMO even Sasuke should've died.
that's actually a very good theory, Tobi did say "long time no see Danzo". He probably wanted more sharingan.I am starting to think that killing off the Uchiha clan to harvest their Sharingan was part of the "Moon's eye Plan" to begin with? Tobi/Madara could have easily used a genjutsu to trick the elders and anyone involved to give the order to wipe them out in order to collect their Sharingan..which is why you see him with so many
