Was it necessary to eliminate the entire Uchiha Clan?

If you wanted someone to cure your cancer would you want them to only cure the mature cells?

but seriosuly, it kinda was. I mean any left over kids wouldve jsut grown up with hate, gone rogue, and tried to eradicate the village. I mean the Uchiha's do carry the curse of hatred. Do we really need 30 Sasuke's? All with emo hair? nope...

All of them? Obito, Shisui, Itachi, the few we know about?

You only destroy the cancerous cells. You won't kill the person.

I meant the new cancer cells not the whole body and it was a joke. But none of those people you know about were in the massacre so...I guess idk how to answer your question. Well Itachi was but he was the murderer and hated his clan so...yes in regards to him?

You guys keep posting simialr question daily instead of checking threads already posted.

Danzou was a rigid leader, Sarutobi was not and believed in finding a solution in an amicable way. But, Uchihas themselves had the same kind of thinking as Danzou and refused to talk and discuss the whole issue openly to resolve it.

Fugaku and others could have considred reasons and possiblity of Kyuubi attack and think who among them could do it just in case. Itachi did find Tobi somehow after all. Uchihas had asked Shisui to spy on Itachi when he showed disagreement with clan's way of thinking. That backfired for them off course, unluckily, when Shisui turned a nationalist as well.

They were suspected and instead of coming out and tell their side of the story(if they had) and discuss it before making any attempts of a coup. Hiruzen let Hizashi die to avoid a war even if the demand was unreasonable. He would have listenned and even Tobi accepted it.

Clan was having secret meetings to make the plans and survivors if any would have suffered more hate and suspecion even more after all the shinobies were sentenced and the whole cycle would contiue. Have you thought that the coup Uchihas were planning would have killed childrens too?

Uchiha clan was dealt in the manner feudal lords dealt with such act as rebellians and efforts to start a war. Are you telling us that the whole of Uchiha clan wouldn't have followed the leader Fugaku and wouldn't have contributed to the civil war just because they may not be established shinobies? That's pretty niave thought and only tells that you do not know what happens during such wars.

It was a sad situation but Uchihas themselves are to be blamed as much as Danzou. They brought it on themselves knowing the implicatins but ignoring it.

I know this is a fictional universe, but that is the mentality used to justify genocide and racism. The nazis all thought the jews were all inherently evil and dangerous to the reich, they justified it with that exact same excuse. Plus I'll bring up this point again, you wouldn't be saying that if it were you getting executed for a crime you weren't involved with.

Im not saying I agree with what happened. Of course it was wrong, but like you said this is the narutoverse, shinobi world. Thats how they deal with it. We can't apply cultural and moral ideas from our world and time with theirs. I believe that in their world, when terrorists plan to attack, they get ride of them. When someone's loved one is killed, it is seen as honorable to get revenge! It's just the rules of their world, has nothing to do with our beliefs.

If anything it's Uchiha who keep emphasisng Uchiha blood most of the times and have been full of superiority complex just beause- even though they were only a few extraordinary shinobies (Madara Izuna, then a gap and Shisui and then Itachi and Sasuke and one of the pair must die for the ultimate powerup) despite the common belief that it was a big clan. Have you noticed that?

I am not justifying in anyway that what the clan was planning to do. They brought death upon themselves.

What I wanted to discuss was how they were dealt with. The whole of the clan might not have followed their leader if they had a chance. If the leaders and die-hards had been dealt with appropriately, others might have abandoned their attempts for power. (we have itachi as an example). After all not everybody wants to die out(that brings to me the Kimimaru clan). And no civilized nation would crush rebellion by eliminating the entire rebels and their families. ( It is not clear how big the Uchiha clan was). We know, after Madara's fight with the First, the Uchiha clan lived all those years without any major incidents...

Sorry Tsuchi, I didn't see any similar thread. I apologize.
