We have seen Hashirama's jutsu so that comparison is moot, every Mokuton jutsu ever used belongs to him, and even based on ability Nagato can't beat Hashirama.

Hashirama vs Madara comparison is also moot because it was already outright stated who won that fight.

In the end you have to go off of ability because that's how all conclusions are solved in Naruto by fighting with abilities.

The fact Tobi kept his pact with Itachi tells you what? Not saying Tobi was scared of Itachi but Tobi wasn't going to take the risk. In Itachi's mind, Tobi was weak compared to himself. He practically stated this by saying that Madara is a shell of his former self and weak. Tobi states to Sasuke that if Itachi knew his secret then he would be dead. This means that obviously Itachi and Tobi were playing a "chess match" with each other. Itachi knew enough that put fear into Tobi while Tobi knew enough about Itachi to put fear into him regarding Sasuke and what his true intentions were, even though Itachi wasn't entirely sure.

It was stated by Iruka, who doesn't know anything about Hashirama's abilities, not reliable.

Again nothing was clearly stated, what is clear is that you STILL can't tell me how Tobi beats Itachi since you're so confident he can win.

As I said, from what we know, Sasuke was the only kid Uchiha at the time. Even if he wasn't, Tobi would want Itachi's brother to be the one to kill him as Uchiha's from the same lineage are counters for each other(which is what Itachi said about Sasuke negating his Tsukuyomi) and that Tobi would need Sasuke in order to have a pair of EMS eyes, since only brothers can obtain EMS. A MAJOR theme of Naruto is the concept of brotherly connections (Sasuke and Itachi, A and B, Madara and Izuna, Elder and Younger Son of Rikudo Sennin, Naruto calling Sasuke his "brother", etc) it'd be weird if Tobi had spared Steven Uchiha so that he could eliminate Itachi...and fail.

Itachi could beat non-rinnegan Tobi; Itachi had a variety of jutsus (including fuinjutsu) and susanoo, not to mention the brains, to do that. Obito's space/time technique might as well be the most efficient we have seen so far in the manga, but we know it has limits and Konan proved it beyond any doubt.

also, fearing sb or sth doesn't mean automatically that you are terrified of them. it could mean that you know your own limits and respect your situation and your opponent's abilities enough to not do any hasty moves.
