And at Hawker, only few Muslims claimed that science and math were from the devil. There are even strong hadith showing that the Prophet encouraged science and math. The golden age was there for a reason. The fathers of chemistry, optics, algebra, were all Muslim.

It has been speculated that the muslims lost their status as the intellictual center of the world in the Golden Age of Islam for the fact that religion and science contradicted one another. At the end of that era for example a muslim scholar Al-Ghazzali preached that mathematics was the work of the devil. He only favoured things that didn't contradict the claims in the koran. He was also against the works of many non muslims as they were from heathen influences. His views were regressive like for example he discouraged studying the greeks unlike past philosophers of his time.
Muslims chose the path where they saw and still see koran as a law book which tells them how to live. This path was essentially the path that lead them away from their knowledge of science.
The whole foundation of their scientific studies collapsed when their religion based philosophy was against the basic elements of science. Revealation replaced investigation. <--- again religion stood in the way of rational based progression
The Golden Age happened yeah, but the downfall also happened for a reason. So what you say makes no sense since islam lagged behind in progress so obviously the ones that mattered didn't encourage science and math.

@Bolded, that's one of the issues that most westernees are questioning. I mean 90% of the refugees are young men? They are just abandoning their country and leaving the women and the children behind. Real honourable. When Finland was at war with Russia, no one escaped, instead we won, even when we were in the underdog postition.
The issue is that a fair proportion of the troublemakers( those who support Sharia law, support terrorists etc) in Britain and mainland Europe are home grown first generation immigrants. In other words, they were born in the country. How do you deal with them before they cause damage? You can't exactly deport them because they're citizens by birth.
This is one of those problems where the old adage "prevention is better than cure" applies. If Europe had not mindlessly allowed in so many refugees with minimal background checks or monitoring(I'm not just talking about those fleeing war) then this problem wouldn't be occurring to the same extent. If the US and other superpowers(not all of Europe was to blame, it must be said) had not mangled the Middle East, which already had its own problems, then the current immigration crisis wouldn't be as bad. All in all, there are no easy solutions. Even closing the borders won't solve it completely since there's still going to be sufficient troublemakers within.
I agree that the damage has already been done. It's sad but it's true. It's up to the politicians now.
