Why are you all surprised Naruto used BM? He likes to show off even if unnecessary. I mean he also used Sage mode on Konohamaru when they fought which was completely unnecessary lol
Not sure if this has been stated, but I disagree that he is using RSM. Look at his body. When he released Kurama's chakra to use the chakra arms. The markings on his hands and his body are identical to that of when he uses KCM or BM (non-Kurama avatar version). In RSM, there's not multiple markings on his stomach. Just one thin circle and the rest is black. And there's no marking on his hands. They're majority black. At best, Naruto learned how to use as little power as possible, so he's just using KCM. No Rikudou chakra required, seeing as how KCM alone destroys basically any Mangekyou user we've seen in the series.

He seems to be in sage mode. I thought he was just at BSM at first but looking at his eyes there is no pigmentation of Frog sage mode. He is using RSM but holding back the strength of it.
I still don't see or agree that it's RSM. The markings are not the same, nor is the cloak. It's BM or BSM.
As for shin, then I don't know why I don't make prediction threads. They always turn out to be right. I was right that the kid will not be an easy target. He proved it with speed.
If Naruto needed Kurama to save Sarada, then you might better start questioning his abilities as himself... But anyway, I'll not completely oppose this reason, although jumping to Kurama Mode wasn't quite required just for that. But it's fine if he wanted to do it.
A pity on sasuke to use itachi eyes against 3 tomoes kid when he didn't even has to save anybody. It might be possible that he was using rinnegan as well because his hairs were covering his eye.
Sorry, but you are an absolute idiot. Sasuke used just Sharingan, not EMS. And that also activated just at the end of the battle. And even if he has his Sharingan activated, what's the big deal? Just because he has the Sharingan activated doesn't mean he needs it. He generally keeps his Sharingan active most of the time, just like Itachi did. And also just like Naruto activated some Kurama involved Sage Mode against Shin. He didn't actually need it, but he did because he felt some push against Shin. And there's a difference here, Sasuke just activated the Sharingan, whereas Naruto activated some sort of SM + BM maybe involving Rikodou's chakra.
Also, Rinnegan probably can't be deactivated. That's why he needs to cover it. Rinnegan's need is only signified by it's use of power, not by it just being activated (because it can't be deactivated). You're stupid, really.
And sasuke also used chidori. Still unable to capture shin.
He didn't use his Chidori to capture Shin. He used it to break the thing which was resisting his sword.
Plus, Sasuke had no intention of capturing Shin. He didn't even know he was an Uchiha, right until the very end when Shin took Sasuke's surprise as an opportunity to flee. It's a pity that Naruto was the one who actually failed to capture Shin.
