I'm trying to figure out why people think either Naruto or Sasuke were pushed to their limits. Neither broke a sweat against Shin.
Sasuke used Chidori Nagasi and masterful taijutsu to just side step and slam shin to the ground. The weird mini Juubi wasn't there when Shin fought Sasuke but the hooded man appeared before him, so it was not worth mentioning that Shin couldn't beat Sasuke (which he can't at the moment at least)
If the fight had continued between Shin and Sasuke, I'm sure the mini juubi would have appeared and told Shin to retreat as well.
As for what SM Naruto was using......
...Couldn't it be all of them. He has been mixing his BM, SM, and RSM in various ways ever since he acquired the 3. Naruto wasn't even phased by Shin. And he was trying to capture him not kill him. Sasuke simply defended against a sudden ambush and he too wasn't trying to kill Shin either.
In summary,
Neither Naruto or Sasuke even got warmed up when fighting Shin. This may change later on. But as it stands now. Shin doesn't really stand a good chance against either of them right now.
But as far as the Uchiha go. Shin is by a far not weak considering he is like what? 10 and already has Mangenkyo Sharingan. That in itself is impressive.
