Something about Hinata

I don’t think she ever stopped being a member of the Hyuga clan. She simply lost her position to become clan leader. She is still Hyuga and still a part of the clan she just was stripped of the heiress title.

Also let’s not confusing weak with lacking. She is a timid support type. Her heart never seemed the type to fight unless it was a last resort.

I always thought she’d make a great medic ninja and in this could have been a worthy Sakura rival. Hyuga are already naturally gifted in chakra control and she prefers to support. Couple healing with her level of Gentle Fist abilities I do believe she would have actually made quite the formidable opponent of faced in a fight.

But again she is the timid kind nature. Healing wounded and particularly Naruto during/after fights would have given her some legit screen/panel time to form an actual romantic bond in the anime/manga and not just the few panels and 1 movie we got.

Like Sakura, A lot of wasted potential on Kishi’s part.

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who though it would have made sense if Hinata was a healer.

1. Discarding Hinata was discarding her from future training into the line of ascension.

He went and began to exclusively tutor Hanabi instead and Hinata was placed into the academy.

2. Part 1 of the first stage Chunin Exams fights had her in this discarded line of ascension which meant that he didn't care if she died in combat... the Chunin exams enter that fold since it is under official ninja jurisdiction.


3. She was still part of the main branch but like other main branch members that were not inline for inheritance she instead participated in ninja mission, and jobs (Like all those Jounin Hyugas we saw).


4. After Naruto defeated Neji, Hiashi began to have a change of heart. Near the end of part 1 you see Hiashi is also talking to Hinata as well as training Neji.

Something he didn't do prior to the academy-Chunin exams time space.

5. Eventually she was back in good terms with her Father, especially during the war arc as he stated he was proud of her and Neji standing side by side in combat.



Hinata could've likely later asked to be part of the clan's inheritance/head, and likely she was also again a candidate post the war as people started calling her heiress again (in that Akamaru and Kiba oneshot).

But Hinata's goal wasn't that and eventually married outside of the clan.

Your argument was that he wasn't a main branch


and on the mission aspect the fact that he wears Konoha attire, something Hiashi didn't do until the war and the fact that he is a Jounin means that he needed to again approval from the Daiyomo


nowhere does it say or show that a main branch member never needs to do missions

your argument also has no basis that Ko Hyuga doesn't do missions either since we lack any screen time of him.

But unlike Hanabi that has a job to become heiress, Ko and other main branchers likely have other jobs to do as they are part of the Konoha shinobi force.

We also see Ko having the uniform and being engaged in the Pain invasion even though Hiashi was out of town. Meaning he took orders from Tsunade.


Again unlike Ko, Hanabi was only shown to be home schooled... as in we never saw her dawn the genin,chunin, or jounin outfits

She might be a jounin now but we unlike Hanabi, Ko isn't in line for being the head and thus like the other Jounin Hyugas do other things.

OT: Yes she was. There were many references to the fact she was main house during her fight with Neji. She was no longer heiress so she wouldn't receive special treatment considering it was an exam.

Hinata wasn't supposed to eat at teh main house but she scavenged from teh trashcan at night when everyone was asleep. She ain't teh queen of gluttony for no reason

What people don't get is when Hiashi sent her away with Kurenai risking her life to danger and death. Hiashi said she's Superflous(extra/unnecessary) to the clan as a whole not just head or branch house. It takes into consideration all possible outcomes. If looked at objectively if she was to die it wouldn't be a loss to the clan (head or branch). Equally if Hiashi and Hanabi were to suffer/die then her succeeding them wouldn't happen either(superflous to the clan). It removed any chance of her ever succeeding either of the 2 and other main house members would succeed, eventually branch house until there were no Hyuga left then Hinata would no longer remain superflous to the clan. And this isn't a bash of her but the truth of the statement and it's implications.

Ps. She is the queen of gluttony she built up her appetite somehow. I can't confirm your version though.
