And no, Sasukes Rinnegan is not the normal one. It may not have an own name but it allows him to use Sharingan abilities with it and it looks different. Therefore it is not the normal one.

Susanno is not a MS technique. It is the special chakra harness from the Brain. MS is the short cut to it. Madara Mastered it to the point where he didn't need his eyes to use it.

As far as I know you don't need to activate the Sharingan or the MS in order to use Susanoo. As long as you've awakened him you don't need to.
