I don't see college in a whole as a scam, but rather the massive expenses necessary to go through the experience.

No, buddy, it's a scam.

In the future, the school systems as we know it now, will become virtually obsolete.

In society, we learn, so that we can make money, that's it! When we should be learning to increase our vibrations, to advance our energies, and to teach others. Our intentions are so screwed up.

Many jobs these days require you to go to college. Also lets say you and a guy are waiting to be hired for the same job. Do you think they'll pick the guy who went college or the guy who didnt?

They would pick the person with more experience and who asks for less pay!!! And thats the REAL WORLD truth!!! Pay less for better results... And it's not always the college grad. I've seen illegals with real life experience who are only asking for 10/hour get hired over fresh college grads asking for 12/hour...

By her going to that school it prolonged their retirement.

If that's your INTENTION, then you should absolutely go. Don't do it just for money, and materialistic things.

That's doing it out of love.

What do you mean by experience? And you act like every college grad is gonna ask for more pay/hours.

Go to college. You're an idiot if you have the opportunity and don't. If you dont want to your next best bet would be the army. But oh wait I'm in the army and my 1st Sgt requires us to be enrolled in two college courses covered by tuition assistance. Just go. You dont have to do it to be successful but it gives you more opportunities. I know a few guys who didn't go and got hooked up with good jobs through family connections. God help them if they ever lose that job though. I know a guy went to tech school and makes mad cash as a deisel mechanic for giant dump trucks and bulldozers and stuff like that. They are the exception though not the rule.

The reason you need to have college courses to be in the army is probably because you dropped out of highschool and had a GED. GED + college courses are required to join the army. Highschool diploma is all you need to join the army.

Such a basic way of thinking.

You're such a reliable slave of the government.

And I can already tell your another bum high school hipster wannabe that thinks it's cool to be nonconformist. Well here's the thing all you wannabe rebel douchebags end up without fail selling out or living a miserable existence. The sad thing is you always without exception somehow get this false sense of superiority. You are not smarter than anyone else your retarded.

I joined the army because it's what I've wanted to do with my life since I was four years old and I love my job. I get to hang out with awesome people from all over the world all day. I get to go places that you never will and see stuff that almost nobody else ever gets to. I'm 22 and I've been to every continent except Antarctica and Australia. Ive seen punks like you show up and they always either break down and fall out or they do a full 180 and become tops lap dog so they get out of all the real work. So yeah I'd rather be a slave of the government than some sad little boy who will doom himself to failure because he thinks he's better than anyone else and the basic standards of life don't apply to him.

Get bent troll.

Is college even a logical investment? You spend years paying thousands of dollars for a 50% chance of getting a job?
Nope, they're are some college that have a high employment rate after graduation. Just do your research and find out. Just work your ass off in your final year of high school and you're guaranteed a few scholarships.

Unless you want a specialized field like being a doctor or nurse then don't waste your time going to college. Experience is what employers want to see. Certifications are what employers want to see. Stable jobs are ones where people want others to do the fixer-upper tasks such as fix the sink, fix the computer, fix the walls. How many times have you called someone to do something that you could do. Do not waste your parents, or yours if you live alone, money going to a place where they just want money.

College is a business and they are in the business of making money along with the government. Why do most colleges cost upward of $15,000? Because they know anyone who is part of the 99% cannot pay that back in a reasonable amount of time. They make you take out loans which accrue interest which make the amount of money you pay even more than the loan you take out. Plus, what if you decide to change your major, that's more money you have to pay. In short college is just a place to go if you want to be in debt for at least 5 years because you have other bills to pay as well.

There's nothing wrong with being a superintendent of a building or a plumber or an hvac technician. It's usually the people who do those types of jobs that have stable income and can open their own business without worry. Do not go to college if you don't know what you want to do in life. Take a year off, work and figure out what you want. Read books and get certifications.

My sister already goes to MIT. I really don't want to put any more of a burden on my parents.

Yeah, I was kinda in the same boat with you on that one. But remember, it all comes down to what you want to make your life like. I don't care if my career's not as successful as Bill Gates or Steve Jobbs, I'm just in it to learn, that's it for me. I don't know about you, but I wish you well. It's life, decisions have to be made one way or another. Just relax bro, think about your future, and even talk to your parents (if you're comfortable with that).

Note: If you're parents tell you they don't want you to go to college because of financial problems, something is seriously wrong. I think parents should encourage a good education for their children, even in the face of adversity. If it's not too late, you could work your butt off to earn scholarships to college (that's my plan). Just don't fall for the student-loan trap... I wish you well!

The problem is that you look down on people. All of your comments show that you believe yourself superior to those who choose not to go to college and get jobs that a lot of other people don't want. We are both alike. We have jobs that people complain about doing but are the first ones who call upon us to do what they need. An army job is tough and I can't imagine what you're going through but stop looking down on people.

Opportunities? I read somewhere about half or more than half of college graduates don't have jobs.
First of all, I understand that you are aware of the media's influence towards society. I acknowledge your persistence in not submitting to ideologies (that the media may try to influence) without good reason. That being said, the problem is you seem very biased towards a side, leaning towards anti-college already. What you are doing is only finding disconfirming evidences of college being useful in life. What you SHOULD be doing is finding disconfirming AND confirming evidences of college being useful. Because if you don't you are actually no better than those you call "submissive conformist" because you actually are one but on the opposing side. Don't take this the wrong way, I'm just trying to make you more open-minded and get you to analyse the entire picture in a logical manner instead of being trapped on one side or the other before seeing the whole picture.

That being said, as many things in life, it depends on what you want to do. You want to weigh the pros and cons of Colleges. I would assume it is very useful for people going into Science to go to a college because you will have to learn and apply a lot for that field. Now for people going into dancing, you could probably find better opportunities than college. For people who just want to be financially successful without taking their interests into consideration, you will likely be miserable and it probably won't matter whether you go to college or not lol.

I admire your courage to serve this country, however we have no business interfering in other countries and war is driving this country further into bankruptcy.

Wow, such a slave mentality.

I rather fail in this slave system, than be a brainwashed conformist, who thinks the way of happiness is to do whatever the f*ck your master tells you is right.

People like you make me regurgitate, because every ideology, opinion, interest, or goal, is influenced by corrupt society.

You sound like the 8/10 group of people, just an "echo" of the governments words. You put so much trust in a system, that really doesn't have your best interest.

Edit:I bet your dream is to do all those things mentioned, and become rich, right?

Exactly the dream of every slave, who believes this type of government is necessary.

I mean, someone has to take stand, you can't be mad at me. Society will never get any better, if we think on a basic level, like you.

Nah I graduated and I've been in for three years. He has us do it because we have a lot of free time, it gives you promotion points which are getting harder to come by, and it helps you when you get out. And hell if tuition assistance pays for it you really don't have a reason to not do it. People don't understand that having degrees in the military is pretty advantageous. Most Sgt Majors at least have a Masters.

By experience I mean actually real life work experience. You get that from either WORKING or from an apprenticeship which usually comes from trade crafts. And yes most freshly graduated college students do tend to ask for more money because we (myself included then) think our little diploma's will promise us anything!!! A lot of employer's do not even take into consideration your diploma. I've been to TONS of job interviews where they don't give 2 shits about my degree or where i went to school and more concerned about how much REAL LIFE experience ive had (FOR EXAMPLE) taking apart a transmission, repairing it, and putting it back together. Experience is the BEST way of getting a job!!!! THAT I can bet my life on!!! I'm 27 years old have been in and out of colleges (graduated them all) with atleast a 3.0 gpa (scholarship requirements) and thats what most every potential employer has asked about... Work experience greatly outweighs your diploma...

On the scale of retardation, you are definately a ten. Bragging about how the system has so many flaws in it, while you sit infront of your computer, crawling somewhere in a dark basement, falling into a diabetic coma.

You will surely change the world man, good luck!

Terrible spelling, low self-esteem, and dry sarcasm.

Since when was telling the truth, considered "bragging"?Are you in denial, as well? That's a rhetorical question, because obviously you are.

Edit: It's funny how these ignorant conformists always use the word "retarded" to describe something they can't comprehend or be open-minded to...

He does not think he is superior. The only problem is his mindset is already fixed on the anti-college side. He just needs to be more open-minded.

Be careful when analysing statistics. You want to know where they found this information and how big the sample size is. For all we know, the information might be from a media website that isn't that credible and the sample size is the people in a college no one has ever heard of. And for 50% getting a job, it begs the question, "how long has the other 50% been jobless?" Maybe they've only been jobless for 6 months or less which isn't that big of a deal. You must look into lots of variables before taking these types of statistics as credible.
