Senjutsu powered rasengan aren't all they're cracked up to be :snick:

I doubt that. Remember how Madara tanked the massive ransengan? Remember how weak it seemed? Here's what a SM enhanced one does according to Naruto wiki with the databook as a source. Go to trivia.

It's possible that Madara knocked it away before it exploded and took its full effect.

Actually, RasenShuriken wasnt designed to be thrown... when Naruto 'invented' it, he didn't throw it at first, but used it like a normal Rasengan, but it backfired and damaged him ( as seen in the anime, dont know if its the same in the manga ). Only after he achieved SM he was able to throw it. So even if RS is technically not a senjutsu, it needs SM to function as a thrown version.

And maybe a Rasengan can be thrown using SM? Though I'd think it would behave more like a thrown stone than a thrown shuriken

No. FRS is just too heavy for naruto to throw. Only in KCM, BM and SM he throw it cuz he has strenght to do so.

Other example would be Asuma and his wind infused blade.
He also shapes wind into a thin blade and after throwing it still maintains its form and does the job.

chakra does not stay around forever otherwise chakra infused items would constantly stay charged without needing the steady input of chakra -.- as i said in my previous post rasenshuriken doesnt stay around for long.. enough chakra must have been put in order for it to stay around after leaving naruto's hand

Not really, even if it hadn't dissipated it clearly shows that without anyone focusing directly on it, the rasengan loses a substantial amount of power

FRS and a hand held rasengan are as different as night and day, and if a user stops concentrating on it, it loses power and fades, stop thinking so biased and ask yourself, if rasengan could be thrown, why is it never used as a projectile? but then again the fact that you compare FRS with rasengan shows us you have about as much grasp on that concept as a fruit fly, but just to show that i know what im talking about and aren't pulling facts outta my ass like you do, i'll provide an example of what happens if you lose focus on a rasengan, either thru a severed arm or otherwise.

A rasengan could drill through susanoo. The key to using a rasengan properly (the most important step) is maintaining the jutsu shape and the chakra inside as it hits its target. If the user doesn't or can't then the energy created from the justu disperse and target doesn't receive the full power of the jutsu. Jiraiya explained that to us back in part 1.

Here is a scene of Jiraiya using the rasengan properly -

We see the rasengan drilling and grinding through the tree.

Here is scene of Naruto using the rasengan before he mastered the jutsu -

We see the justu and energy dispersed. The results are different because at that time he couldn't maintain the rasengan as it hit its target.

So, with that said it can be determined that the reason Kakashi survived was because did not received the full power of the rasengan since Naruto is the only person capable of using a rasengan at mid/long range. Since the 4th can't use a rasengan at mid/long range when it hit Kakashi he was unable to maintain the jutsu and the energy dispersed.

he couldn't stop moving forward, and sasuke was coming at him also, obviously he knew if he took his jutsu down he'd have been killed outright and kept it activated to protect himself

The scene shows base rasengan drilling through susanoo. That's the reason why Madara increase the size and strength of susanoo.

Asumas wind blades do loose their 'charge' shortly after beeing thrown, too. Otherwise they would, once infused, keep their charge forever (wich they dont).
As for your oppinion (and thats all it is) on RS and it beeing too heavy for Naruto... well I dare say many ppl might disagree with that

Every jutsu has a life span.
Another example would be raiton charged blade used on suigetsu, it was there for quite some time

You're just happy to pick up on any excuse, but as i said there are tons of examples of severed chakra working.
Like susanoo separated from madara, or susanoo blade that tsunade has used against madara and many more.

As far as SM rasengan vs susanoo goes.
