Nah, it is not shameful at all.He has just realized that Naruto is too broken/OP (to the point of going head to head against Kaguya for several chapters, while Sasuke can´t even touch her) so for now Sasuke has no problems accepting his role as support for Naruto, that is why he said he would act as a decoy.

That being said, Sasuke is still needed to defeat Kaguya and he knows that, so he decided to swallow his pride and hand over the leading role to the one who by all accounts seems superior at this point, none other than Nardo,everyone else´s role is just to support.

Sasuke did not wait for Naruto, he went on ahead and began to go at her regardless, Sasuke still has more power to awaken within himself just like Naruto does, if Sasuke wanted to be just a decoy per say, he would have waited for Naruto or forced him into his susanoo, but instead he decided to just go on ahead and get on with figuring out possible weak points.

There never was a fight until now lol. Naruto was never stronger than Sasuke, after the kage summit naruto admitted he could not defeat sasuke at his current level, and that was only when sasuke had the mangekyo. It's simple logic over fanboy way of thinking.
