Hmm Rock requires more talent then rap... I preffer to appreciate the effort and btw lol not all metal is about gore
rap requires dedication. with rock, all you gotta do is play a couple instruments and be able to scream while singing. with rap, you speak from the heart, though people like young money and soulja boy ruined hip hop.

rap all the way

Are you sure what you are saying because as far as I know, rock songs inspired a lot of people. Don't you know that when they yell they express an emotion? The message of their songs it's worth of hearing rather than hearing some guy going to club and drinking beer!

O_O listen to this and tell me you don't see the meaning behind the song?

New blood joins this earth
And quickly he's subdued
Through constant pained disgrace
The young boy learns their rules

With time the child draws in
This whipping boy done wrong
Deprived of all his thoughts
The young man strugggles on and on he's known
A vow unto his own
That never from this day
His will they'll take away
Chorus

What i've felt
What i've known
Never shined through in what i've shown
Never be
Never see
Won't see what might have been
What i've felt
What i've known
Never shined through in what i've shown
Never free
Never me
So i dub thee UNFORGIVEN

They dedicate their lives
To running all of his
He tries to please then all
This bitter man he is
Throughout his life the same
He's battled constantly
This fight he cannot win
A tired man they see no longer cares
The old man then prepares
To die regretfully
That old man here is me
Chorus

You labeled me
I'll label you
So i dub thee UNFORGIVEN

o_O for this I get that the we are born into the world and we ourselves have to overcome this thought that we always have to be better. The people around us judge us and expect us to do something and certain people resent them for it and they resent us for not doing as we are supposed to. We eventually break down and do what they want and have a mediocre life just like everyone else...

And now what do you get from this?

If I Dont Nuthin Imma Ball
Im Countin All Day Like A Clock On The Wall
Now Go And Get Your Money Little Duffle Bag Boy
Said Go And Get Your Money Little Duffle Bag Boy Get Money
And I Aint Ever Ran From A Nigga And I
Damn Sho Aint Bout To Pick Today To Start Runnin
Look Honey I Aint Never Ran From A Nigga And I
Damn Sho Aint Bout To Pick Today To Start Runnin Get Money

Tha Beat So Hot Tha Flow Is So Ice Cold
Walkin To The Gucci Store Honey I'm Home
I Am On My Shit I Need A Pamper On
Toilet Paper On The Side For Example Hommie
I... Get... Money
I Know You Niggas Aint Heard No Shit Like This And
While You Wishing On That Fallin Star I'm In A Foreign Car
Smoking Out With The Doors Ajar
Suede Sun Roof Hangin Out The Big Top
We Leave The Dealership Head To The Rim Shop
You Niggaz Bearly Dressin I Got Thousands Piling
Thats That Salad Dressin Im On My Thousand Island
Wildin... Stylin... I Be I Get So Much Money Its My I.D
Dont Try Me And If I Dont Do Nuthin Ima ****in Ball
And I Aint Bout To Start Runnin Nawl Nigga Nawl

If I Dont Nuthin Imma Ball
I'm Countin All Day Like A Clock On The Wall
Now Go And Get Your Money Little Duffle Bag Boy
Said Go And Get Your Money Little Duffle Bag Boy Get Money
And I Aint Ever Ran From A Nigga And I
Damn Sho Aint Bout To Pick Today To Start Runnin
Look Honey I Say I Aint Never Ran From A Nigga And I
Damn Sho Aint Bout To Pick Today To Start Runnin Get Money

For this I get that he wants money and O_O won't run away..

Personally I think rock wins because I was able to grasp the message a lot easier and the reason I picked Lil Wayne is cause that's one of the people you guys were using as an example of a good rapper.....

Yes and steroid-pumped dudes with no shirts randomly rhyming about how tough they are and how much drugs they take is very intelligent music indeed.

You honestly believe all there is to Rock is yelling?
You basically said a similar concept with your post about Rap.

"adds swear every now and then". Not all Rappers swear nor do they all rap about a hard life.

Same as above. Not all those rappers rap about those things. Kanye often speaks on social conditions, i.e. dropping out of college, dead-end jobs, religion, car wrecks, family affairs, his grandmother's near death moments from AIDS, and other topics. (Note, I'm only going by his first two albums.) Kanye rarely raps about his toughness, or at least used to. In that case, I could say something about Rock Music like: "Bunch of dudes running around screaming on stage about drugs, ***, and money then jumping into a mosh pit." Now that wouldn't be very true, would it? =/

And another thing, Rock lyrics often mention heavy reference to "hardcore" drugs, i.e. Acid, meth, coke, herion. Most rap lyrics only mention smoking weed. Don't see how that can be construed as worse than Rock lyrics on that part. Not trying to start an argument either, just saying.

All in all, I still vote for Rock. Just don't be so quick to down the other though. I'm a big fan of both (my favorite two genres, actually). Favorite band being either Linkin Park, Green Day, or Nirvana and favorite rapper being Drake (before the YM era), Tupac (his more political and socially-conscious works) and Kanye West (same as Tupac).

I'm not saying that rock/metal/punk are pure clean music. They're not, and that's good cause otherwise everyone would be listening to it. I don't only listen to that type of music. Enjoy the occasional Cypress Hill, which is filled with drug/money topics to. Yet with what I said I was referring on that persons choice of words as in ''rock is retarded'' ''hip hop all the way'', those kinds of words come from a person who does NOT listen to music, he just hears it. If you know what I mean. Words like that really 'bust my bubbles' because people can't appreciate music, they just listen to it cause it's 'cool'. As in lyrics like: ''fcuk the police'' ''yeah it's so cool that rapers don't like cops cause they're dumb'' and then people don't see behind the story, that some ethnic groups really ARE discriminated and the only way they can express their opinion is through music. Same as metal ''fcku it all, fcuk this world, fcuk everything that you stand for'' they don't wanna say look at me, I can swear...No, they are expressing their anger against the views of this shallow society. I honestly don't care about what other people do, how many drugs they take. How many ''h0es'' they did. Everyone interprets the lyrics themselves and we can't really know exactly what's behind the lyrics. I listen to it because it has a meaning and symbolism for me. I wasn't in any way saying ''rap is retarded''... Thank god we have different music tastes, and thank god not everyone likes the same thing. Thank god someone has the guts to step on a stage and say things we only can think. Imagine the world without artists like that. Everyone listening to Justin Bieber, hell on earth....
