rap does it for me in particular the english stuff (grime) i think the american rap scene is dying a bit not many people can bring something new to the table,
Any genre can add a sense depth to it its just a shame that most rap artist dont....they just like to rap about bitches and ho's for entertainment value I like rock but I feel rap has more pontential than is portrayed by mass media. Rap was originally created as a away to 'fight' forms of oppressiveness and share their problems with people but now its turned to a huge party where only your friends, bitches and ho's are invited......
R.I.P Hiphop.....
Usually Lil wayne doesnt say anything really worth listening to but he said something in one of his new songs that just made me think that if this guy did a whole song about real problems maybe I would start listening to him more, I feel that when rappers get to the top they just focus on making money and lose sight of why they rapped in the first place.....
"Guerillas in Suits
The Holy War, The Spiritual Troops
Fighting over the mythical truth
Drowning in the Political Soup
They shoot Missiles and Nukes
Taking out such a pivotal group
The body count is the physical proof
And they thought drugs were killing the Youth!"
-Lil wayne-
Couldnt believe this guy wrote this...I think this is proof that he has something worth saying but just doesnt want to say it for fear of losing his fans......
All ( the vast majority at least ) of those that you have mentioned are in it solely for the money, thus they rap about shit that not everyone/most people can relate to.
Anyways, music in general is failing ( IMO), most up coming artist, like i said, are in it only for the money. In the end they'll just try to reproduce the Success of their biggest hit(s) and the Fans will continue to buy regardless.
Im into both, but more leaning towards the side of Rap ( Hip Hop ).
If you dislike Rock for its "yelling", then i presume that you've never watched Dbz lol.
rap requires dedication. with rock, all you gotta do is play a couple instruments and be able to scream while singing. with rap, you speak from the heart, though people like young money and soulja boy ruined hip hop.
best lyrics (Bob Dylan, The Beatles, LZ, ...) that are even better because of the awesome rock singers (Freddie Mercury, Robert Plant, ...) and magic with instruments (Hendrix, Page, well there are too mayn here)
and if you think rock is a couple of instruments I suggest you drop todays ''rock'' and go back to the classics and youll see what music is
Classic Rock & Classic FTW

You guys like rap and would do a lot to see the best of it, but its not the same as rock it just doesnt move you in the same way and screaming isnt rock for me if you would know the best of rock you would NEVER say its too much screaming
as for rock: many would sell their souls to listen to the original Beatles or Led Zeppelin once again or to hear Mercury one last time
