Alright as for my knowledge on lightning itself and electricity it comes from what I've learned from IB physics...note that I'm barley managing a D in the classxd

Lightning is essencially an atmospheric discharge of electricity that travels at extremely high speeds (hundreds of thousands of km/h or mph if you're not metricxd). Lightning is also of high in it's innate tempature as well reaching...very hot (thousands of degrees celcius idk), examples of the heat or tempetures is the amount of lightning storm initiated wild fires each year. Lightning is more common in thunderstorms but could also be present in volcanic eruptions and dust storms. Lightning bolts can have both positive and negative polarities, however, a positive lightning generates about 10 times the current of negative lightning (+Lightning=300,000 amperes/300kA while -Lightning=30,000 amperes/30kA...I knew the numbers because it's the only question I got right on a work sheet ).

As for the uses it has in the world, for one; the harnessing of it's electricity for it's energy. As lightning is electricity, looking on electricity to a for static charges and currents. The tempatures that can be generated by the heat energy can provide power and stimulation, causing higher vibrations in molecular structures.

In the Narutoverse lightning release techniques and uses are primarily offensive, I can't recall any uses of defensive other then using the techniques to counter other techniques.

• However the electrical currents could potentially work as a release from genjutsu and could have other supplamentary uses.

• The uses for lightning release are mainly to send high voltage and surges into your opponents body to cause a hinderance in movement or a momentary partial state of paralysis due to the rapid and off guard change of a body's natural energy flow (this is only a guess I'm not sure of this). However, the amount of heat and/or the electrical current could be enough to kill one's opponent due to the body's inability the levels of electricity inserted into their body.

• Also with the factor of increased heat and stimulation of molicules to cause heavier vibrations, raiton techniques could be used in a similar method to wind release in creating blade like energy to cut through or stab their opponents. With the current added to this, the blades created with the lightning will also give off the natural electrical affects and can aid in paralyzing one's opponent if the initial target is missed.

• However with the right amount of electricity to flow through one's cells could cause them to accelarate and increase one's natural speed to great heights, as demonstrated with Sandaime and Yondaime's Raikage's Raiton armor.

I know the Narutoverse elemental strengths and weaknesses but I'm not entirely sure as to why. Raiton is naturally strong against Doton techniques while weak against Futton. I'm not entirely sure why though for either, except maybe that earth is a conductor (maybe idk) but I'm completely in the dark about wind release. Water however is a conductor and works well in collaboration with water to increase the strength of the lightning and also range.

*As you make your two clones I begin to first, channle the chakra inside my core, I channle powerful vibrating lightning chakra into my stomach, concentrating on it's imense power and, in as fluent a movement as I can without harming myself, I channle the vigorous chakra up through my body into my throught and center it into my mouth. Concentrating on the spear/rod like formation of the lightning, I use my mouth as a tool to form the lightning into the desire shape and I spit out a powerful spear of lightning chakra from my mouth, heading towards one of your clones.

Immediantly after I begin to focus my chakra into my hand, I begin focusing on a greater mass of chakra forming within my right hand in order to shape the chakra into a spear before it's launch. As the lightning gathers wildly in my hand I concentrate hard on forming the wild static chakra into a confined spear and making it even denser then natural. As I reach my the maximum level of control I can, I launch the chakra spear at the second clone...

I then pant slightly from the strenuous use of chakra*

Water is a natural conductor of electricity, making it useful when combined with water or water techniques. The electricity from the simple lighting techniques like this would spread throughout the water source (jutsu) making both jutsu stronger and adding the affect of electrocution of high voltage, along with the chance of drowning (if the water large enough). Using these projectiles to in conjunction with the water techniques would increase this.

Would you like specific jutsu I could combine them with sensei or is this good enough?
