The only thing I'm looking forward to is the tea party, I hope it's a clash of both sides and not a one sided off paneled massacre. A large scale battle is what the SH's need to escape and move on from this arc already.

That shit was on some phantom troupe Chrollo orchestrating riot type stuff.

That was just talk that's not what we the reader have been allowed to see happen and it likely won't happen that way either. What we've seen has been joke-y and light hearted for the most part. Luffy getting to eat an entire building made of food, joke-y; Cracker's defeat, joke-y; Mirror world, joke-y; her homies carry on in a joke-y manor, the overall design of most of her crew, joke-y. That doesn't mean there hasn't been dark parts like how she gets her homies and how she punishes people but I'd say it's been 65% jokey

I mean, yeah, but it's also like...WB would wake up, throw Ace into the ocean, and then go back to sleep. I'm sure Oda is doing this to further the Big Mom-Kaido clash-up, but it probably could have been done a lot better. This was like the first legitimate dehype of Big Mom all arc.

Nah I thought it fits her character, it was a funny and nervous scene at the same time. With every attempt I flipped the page thinking oooh shit, they're going to get caught. As soon as they were safe it became funny again. So it was pretty clever, totally a One Piece way of doing stuff. It will be amazing in the anime.

If she would've caught them there the SH's would be dead. And at least her guards were alert enough to catch even a fly coming near. Don't see how that dehypes her in any way.

Brook definitely earned the right to take a peak. :bdpf:...One of the great things about this arc is that Brook is finally doing something. He was the MVP in this chapter.

I think there's more to Brook and this chapter made a lot of other's see that as well. Remember Brook still has mystery to him, what's this kingdom special forces where he learned his sword skills? He made it sound reputable. He also said he was "kinda famous" implying he was well known when alive. Sailed during Roger's era. His sword tech. was good enough that with a strong body it was able to push Zoro. He's so light he's one of the fastest SH's, I would say probably below only Sanji and G2 Luffy(idk about Zoro).

She had two things stolen right from under her nose(Brook and the Poneglyphs). A good number of her subordinates got handled including 2 of her commanders already. Both of which were accomplished by a crew many says isn't ready to face a Yonkou and isn't even at full strength. Her area of impact on attacks seems small based on her size and supposed strength. Ok they only took out 1 commander but a group of people around the same level or lower took out the other.

What people really mean by dehype though is that they expected more out of the Yonkou title. Nothing BM has done has underwhelmed anything said about her because she wasn't hyped up beyond being a Yonkou.

So with that being said, Oda also gave us a glimpse of Bobbin's powers, and I think he's going to use his DF ability (which is some sort of putting-people-to-sleep type of thing) to k.o. Luffy and Sanji to make sure that he gets them to the tea party..

It has been said before. I think it indicates that Big Mom is used to fighting powerful enemies on Tea Parties because they force marriages of high ranking people.

She is a heavy sleeper.. But if we talking about hype then eh.. I understand
I would be disappointed if Kaido came out looking weak af lol
