I do understand what you are saying, that the hype stigma was made too high and people had expectations but the movie is the exact opposite.

It lays the grounds that Boruto is a very talented shinobi, but without the effort put in, he isn't that amazing. It's realistic. You may be a good runner, but if you don't exercise and work out, how far can you go against a normal guy who has a routine everyday to get faster?

To much disappointment, the movie doesn't start off as Boruto being some kind of Genius, but it ends with him realizing that he needs to be genuine with his own skills. It literally ends with Boruto changing into a certain type of shinobi.

Though I don't think it deserves hype, that shit needs to stop. Otherwise we'll set him up for failure based on fan made interpretations, it's happening to Himawari a bit right now too.

Though on the note, would him learning his elemental nature without training, and applying it to his Rasengan without clones ssignify something great? I'm not even talking on the terms of Prodigal or Genius, just something to take note of on how difficult it was supposed to be when Naruto had to train for it, and use clones in the process.

He knows how his ability works, but he doesn't know that he unconsciously applied an elemental nature to it. Sasuke explained it to him.

But you aren't wrong, his own skill permitted him doing it without him actually knowing it was possible.

Naruto trained for his elemental nature, Boruto just does it.

Naruto has to make clones, one for making the rasengan, one for applying the elemental nature.

Rasengan isn't a wind element

Knowing how it works means he knows the full ability of his jutsu, but the spoiler made no indication of boruto having a slightest clue that his rasengan can do s/t. Heck even when sasuke told him to use rasengan on momo, he was like, "b. bu.. but.. but mo.. mo.. mo.. mo can absorb ninjutsu.. su.. su.. su.. su!!" Sasuke understand the jutsu so much better than him that I wonder if sasuke can make rasengan better than him
