Now, time for the actual teaching method i'll be using. I'm a big fan of the socratic method of teachins: questions and answers. I'll post some questions, you answer and then i'll correct, explain why i do so and post the complete info. It will make you understand exactly what are we talking about.

First thing is first: How to make a battle thread? Anyone have a glue? How do you make a battle thread and what information is absolutly necessary to have posted there?

To set up a fight. One has to lay out the following rules.

-Rei's R&R ( It stands for Re's rules and regulations.)

-If you want the ability to steal kumi, or a bio

-Terrain (where you're fighting, either describe it, or provide a picture)

-Range(what range you're at)

-Type of Battle: Choose the type of battle you want. No restrictions, taijutsu battle, ninjutsu only battle, team battle, etc.

-Subs (substitution jutsu. If you say yes, it can only be used once)

-CJ's (custom jutsus)

-CE's (custom elements)

-lastly a person must has an approved bio to fight and should provide the link of it.

You can set up a thread in the "Naruto Battle Arena" forum. You should include in the title open battle, or the name of a specific NB member if you have predetermined beforehand that you two will battle.

You should include in the rules and guidelines:

  1. Rei's Rules (NB RP Rules)
  2. Stealing/Killing
  3. If Subs and Kai are allowed
  4. If CJ and CE are allowed
  5. Location (picture optional)
  6. Type of Battle: (Nin, Tai, Team, War)
  7. What Bio you are using, and the link to it.
  8. Specify who will make the first move
  9. Usually some type of entrance; Ex: HereticPassage jumps off the rock he sits on, and greets the opponent.

Very good! Forgot only range ^^

Almost complete.

Now, from what i've seen we have here a confusion. But first:

You make the battle thread in the battle arena. The title can be anything but its good to state if its a spar or an official bio and who are the participants.

Then you need to state that the battle will be regulated by Rei's Rules and Regulations (which we already discussed and hopefully you already learned >_O).

Decide upon the restrictions:
Killing Yes/No
Stealing Yes/No
CJ Yes/No
CE Yes/No
Kai's and Subs Yes/No (if you say yes, it means its use is as restricted in re's rules and regulations but you can also just say no or simply state the number of times. Also, i hope you know what Subs and Kai stand for...first to say earns a cookie)
Battlefield (provide either a picture or a good description, don't forget to state if there is a water source nearby or not and if it his, say what range from you and your opponent and were is it in relation to both of you)
Starting Range (Short, Mid or Long)
Bio link
Who makes the first move

Special abilities and CW:
If you have special activation ability like a dojutsu, state if you start with it activated or not. If you enter the field with a CW post its description in your starting post.

I do hope you all know what a CJ, CE, CW, Kai and Sub means. If not, ask me please.

Now, since you all confused it a lot, tell me what is a spar, an unofficial battle and an official battle?

Kai refers to genjutsu release and Subs refers to substitution technique.

I think Spar means normal fights, official battles are the battles that are official NB tournament fight and unofficial battles are just the opposite of officials i,e, not comes under NB tournaments.

I think a spar is when you fight but you neither kill nor severly injure
I think an official battle is a battle that is in a tournament
I think an unofficial battle is one that one that is supposed to happen but is just a practice match

Spar is like a pratice battle without killing
Unofficial match is like a regular match killing can occur but it does not count and does not go down on ur resubmition
Offical match meaning if you die in the match that counts as 1/3 times your bio can die before 1week termination (i think) etc

Right! Now, this isn't an official definition but i think its pretty accurate (it's my own definition):

Official Battle: A battle held as a result of some official RP business. This can be a battle test, a tournament battle, a war battle, etc. It's always held according to Rei's Rules and Regulations but it can or can't be restricted, depending on the event from which it comes. In these battles, killing and stealing count except for Tests (Bio, Sensei, etc). The objective is always to win.

Unofficial Battle: A battle held as the result of the opponents wish to battle each other and win. It has nothing to do with RP business or events. Killing doesn't count nor does stealing (if you state otherwise it becomes official) but the final objective is to win. Its generally held according to Rei's Rules and Regulations and can be restricted or not, depending on the participants will. As unofficial, nothing that happens in this type of battles counts in the RP.

Spar: This is a practice match. Its held according to Rei's Rules and Regulations with the objective of having fun, learning and practicing your skills. Both opponents decide on the rules but instead of going for the kill, in these battles ones tries to outsmart your opponent instead of pure pawning him. However, unless its stated that Killing doesn't count or doesn't happen, if you are hurt you may need to go to the hospital if the spar is a result of official training for example. With a spar, wining is secondary.

Now, does everyone understand? Please feel free to ask something if needed.
