If one gets caught then the rest if them get caught in it as well, it doesn't matter about brains because like you sad yourself, they're corpses. their brains are dead. And if you noticed in the Fight between Jiraiya and pain. The Rest of the Pains came AFTER the Genjutsu was over. And it doesn't have to be the finger Genjutsu, Itachi can still use his best Technique Tsukjuyomi. Which nobody has ever broken besides Sasuke.

Maybe afterwards, but it still did have enough time to absorb more of her chakra, travel over to Sasuke, and give him all the Chakra before finally withering. If you got six or seven ones of these, you'd be pretty screwed up, even if you manage to fatally injure some of them. xD And yeah, of course, a lot of them were taken out, but those weren't exactly the same. Not to mention that you'd probably need a fairly strong attack to take them out, and I honestly don't see Hidan's scythe finishing the job while he's so heavily restricted, when he'd need to fatally injure not only one, but six of those things.
