Exactly what makes this forum "shitty" ? The forums have a nice layout and are organized- that's what makes me to return here.

This is what we call a joke. An ironic one at that. By simply using the words awesome and shitty together I was denoting an enjoyable environment with unsavory qualities to my own tastes.

It saddens me that this needs to be explained, but there you are.

The family site atmosphere is what makes it worth hanging out for a lot of people. You can indulge in your "adult" un-family like activities anywhere else. Internets are big. No I'm not trying to be mean. I don't see why people should think that asking them to behave a little bit is a bad thing. We try to keep this place a safe and clean environment for everyone, including you.

We are a community with a really varied age group ( some kids are not even 12) , with different nationalities and cultural sensitivities. Also, we already get enough DMCa notices and had to lose many back links for the site. We don't need Google to flag as a site with objectionable content on top of it. Many schools even block such sites.

Then again every site has it's own nature and atmosphere depending upon what works for it and what the owner wants from it.

In many of my posts I have done my best to perceive things from the level of the staff. As you stated, I am simply incapable of comprehending many of the finer points of running and maintaining the site. Which is I refrained from outright mocking or complaining there.

When I say "churn out" I mean the quality of threads here are quite simply weak. This is not something I myself have spoken about, but a members have pushed through the wood-work to voice their complaints.

I find it rather odd that responses like this get put through. While informative, this is more or less saying the same thing. "This environment works" and so on. My question is, shouldn't the entire site debate that as a whole?

Forgive my ignorance on the matter, but considering this manga is concluding, isn't it odd and somewhat disappointing that so many threads about "the demise of the site" has been created? I'm sorry, but the fact that these discussions exist at all only prove that this atmosphere is not nearly enough to compensate for the manga's end.

For my arguments sake and only for my argument I will point to a few other sites who are not experiencing this on anywhere near this level.

No other forum churns out threads like we do? You are part of the thread making community, sir. Staff is certainly not blind. It notices more than members who are often oblivious to ground realities which it may or may not share with you all the time..

There is a manga anime section already. We would love to see it more active. Nothing stops you from picking a new one right now and join the discussions. I say go for it.

Frankly I wouldn't mind sticking a few manga/anime general discussions threads in which you can discuss latest chapters. Keep it one thread and you may continue discussions with handful of members even and keep it going. It doesn't work because people try to make new threads for new chapters on the lines of the big three.

.. I come here to discuss manga and anime among people who are interested in it. Getting to know a few people with whom I can talk about manga and some random things sometimes and all that. It was always like that and will be. The day I lose interest or don't have time for it anymore I would leave. My aim was never to "make a name" for myself on an internet forum. I don't even get the craze for it either. May be I am too old for that stuff. :shrug:

But as for care- we do care for all the members and help out when need be. I try to help out when I can and I know others in team do the same. But of course no one can make everyone happy all the time. I'm sorry but it simply doesn't work that way.

Ira, for now I will just speak to you as a person, because I really do see that you care. For one, I'd like to apologize for some things I've said to you in the past. In reality they were ill-put and I thought I had a gauge of you beforehand. Though I never really agreed with the way people were banned here (and still don't) I want to make it clear that people care.

I mean people on this site really care. Enough so that they're willing to discuss this as openly as possible. Please just be real with us here. Closing registration for 5 months for something like trolls and alts just seems... odd. Is there something up here?

If you read all of that thanks. I am not really interested on getting "corrected" here. I'm sure there are a few things I'm not fully up to speed on, but I think i've donated a good 30+ dollars so far to this site. I am not at all suggesting that I am entitled to anything in the least, but I do want to make it clear... that I do care. To some degree.

And I think many of the members that have donated and converse here would agree this is a little more than a random forum for anime talk. It's a rather decent escape every now and then. I hope me questioning things (even if I'm ignorant) isn't an issue.

But I feel that giving my honest opinions is being fair to you all.

That isn't troubling? That people can't follow direct and simple rules like that? That even something as simple as this can't be executed correctly? I'm sorry, but that in itself is a sign of atmospheric issues. Where the tumult can't even break single issues like these.

when i got first got to nb you were a lot more strict, but now your a little more relaxed.


people tend to bash you because they dont know you that well and you infracted them a lot.

i never bashed you, but its weird getting yelled at by people we barely see ( mods and admins )

You don't get it do you?I had less than 2500 posts when I became a mod- in a span of two years. I'm still a user who comes here for her own fun. Why must I post in discussion if I am not interested in them or have nothing to say? I read the posts if they catch my attention and respond if I am in mood. I don't post them for PR. And that's not going to change. Why should it? I am not obligated to participate in threads. I volunteered to help in keeping things organized, and that's all.

Frankly- you have no idea how private a person I'm. I kept my profile private and literally kept friend list as small as possible. I keep it public now only so that people can communicate easily. The day I leave mod ship I will probably close it all again and get rid of the long friend list I have- not to be offensive to anyone but simply because both of us know you are there only because I'm a mod not that you care one bit about me personally.

On many sites you will get yelled at if you break rules whom you never see. Do you know the yahoo or Goggle staff personally? Do you need to? No.

Bashing =oh well of course they do. Many people have hard time being told that they cannot do as they please all the time and have to follow certain decorum.
