We'll test this when the manga is actually over and we have something to gauge this with.

Exactly what makes this forum "shitty" ? The forums have a nice layout and are organized- that's what makes me to return here.
When Naruto ends this "family site" atmosphere needs to go with it. The harshness of this place needs to rev up to the point where plebs are discouraged from joining in.
Realistically speaking, NB will likely undergo an identity crisis of some sort upon reaching the end of the series. And I don't think the staff are blind to this. They know what restlessness has caused in the community. No other forum churns out threads like the ones we've had this week when the manga goes on break.
Some of these members will likely go away when the manga ends and thank god for that. Some of these losers need to go.
The family site atmosphere is what makes it worth hanging out for a lot of people. You can indulge in your "adult" un-family like activities anywhere else. Internets are big. No I'm not trying to be mean. I don't see why people should think that asking them to behave a little bit is a bad thing. We try to keep this place a safe and clean environment for everyone, including you.
We are a community with a really varied age group ( some kids are not even 12) , with different nationalities and cultural sensitivities. Also, we already get enough DMCa notices and had to lose many back links for the site. We don't need Google to flag as a site with objectionable content on top of it. Many schools even block such sites.
Then again every site has it's own nature and atmosphere depending upon what works for it and what the owner wants from it.
No other forum churns out threads like we do? You are part of the thread making community, sir. Staff is certainly not blind. It notices more than members who are often oblivious to ground realities which it may or may not share with you all the time..
That's the mentality! If the manga ends, we get a chance to see real changes here. Positive ones in fact. I'd like to be one of those old farts on this forum lol
It'd be better to try and change this to an all-around anime forum afterwards. Time for us to make these sections more lively. The real source of survival here still comes from us members. Time for us to break away from the NDS lol.
There is a manga anime section already. We would love to see it more active. Nothing stops you from picking a new one right now and join the discussions. I say go for it.
Frankly I wouldn't mind sticking a few manga/anime general discussions threads in which you can discuss latest chapters. Keep it one thread and you may continue discussions with handful of members even and keep it going. It doesn't work because people try to make new threads for new chapters on the lines of the big three.
i have wanted to quit nb for a long time because i get in trouble for the smallest things and they dont care about members like me, who are actually active . i went off and proved i can make a name for myself on a bigger non manga site, and it was a top 5 vbulletin site unlike nb
.. I come here to discuss manga and anime among people who are interested in it. Getting to know a few people with whom I can talk about manga and some random things sometimes and all that. It was always like that and will be. The day I lose interest or don't have time for it anymore I would leave. My aim was never to "make a name" for myself on an internet forum. I don't even get the craze for it either. May be I am too old for that stuff. :shrug:
But as for care- we do care for all the members and help out when need be. I try to help out when I can and I know others in team do the same. But of course no one can make everyone happy all the time. I'm sorry but it simply doesn't work that way.
