I agree, plot hole no jutsu! I would accept tobi's identity if it was explained that his body was used, infused with the first's cells, and someone elses consciousness. ( like ork steals body's ). But being a grown obito. I've always tried to bring anime fans to naruto cus of how Kishi tied in the generations and the fights were great but if this isn't explained how a genin escaped a pile of boulders on his own, advanced to the point of fighting minato and plunking kyuubi without training in that short of a period...... -rep Kishi

oh and after they beat tobi they don't kill him and naruto goes to fight madara and tobi has a change of heart about the whole situation and helps them defeat madara only to be killed himself in the end? actually all things considered that could happen. maybe kishi wants obito to redeem himself after he's defeated. just gotta wait and see!

Nobody seems to actually be confirming Tobi Being Obito...

It's just Kakashi contemplating as to whether he is or not.

My theory is is that obito was rescued by madara and madara had his lil collection of Hashirama's dna where he used it to recreate obito and was named tobi which was the one of the form of zestu. Madara was the first. Madara was the first form of zetsu after the fight with Hashirama he remade himself with Hashi's dna. Later when the years when on, Madara had taught tobi the uchiha way. Somewhere Orochimaru came into the picture with his obsession of collecting dna to create the perfect body for himself. He and madara create akatsuki with tobi being introduced as madara. Madara was the one who attacked the village and was defeated by the 4th. After the 4th sealed his powers and was no longer able to use the sharingan to control the kyuubi, it was up to tobi to carry out his will. Madara being Obito (tobi) closest friend, he killed madara giving him the MS and taking the rennegan. THIS IS A THEORY, so dont be all defensive and whatnot

After thinking about it, it seems just-as, if not more, likely that Tobi was actually Madara who then rescued and corrupted Obito and used him to carry on his legacy.

Honestly, I like most of the theories that people have come up with on NB better ><

I personally dont think we will see Obito or Tobi at all in the next chapter, it will jump to Sasuke for a bit. It still hasnt been confirmed that it is Obito, it is definitiely his body, but there are various Jutsus out there to control bodies, change bodies etc... I would quite like it to be Obito, Kakashis character would have a lot more importance in the outcome of this story. Also a rivalry at a personal level could add to the mix. I guess we will just have to wait and see, but I wouldnt be surprised if it was Obito all way long, people who are saying how young he must have been when fighting Minato, remember how young Itachi was when he was considered the strongest shinobi in the village. It also may be he was taken in by someone.. Never know.

He better doesn't switch to sasuke D: , there is a big chance he meant to say he is Obito to troll us and add some drama action , then reveal his real character later on. (Tobi fight vs Minato doesn't show he was obito / Kisame meeting tobi , we saw in the memory tobi hair was the same as madara , which means at that moment the masked man was madara , but later on Kisame saw tobi face and he knew he is , it can be obito (being madara successor) , so in short it looks like we had two masked men.

well, yeah, you're right about that... it would be too random showing us two guys with masks and different hair... The second one should be Madara... probably... hopefully... :|

Looks like Obito went crazy with all those rocks hitting his head and damaging his brain.

My predictions:

Kishi would be next to get the brain damage if he didn't come up with some nice back story or explanation for this weeks chapter. Since ther is no way he could have given eyes to Nagato.

Other than that it is possible that Rin's death activated MS for both eyes. Kakashi being a non Uchiha took too much time in activating it. >_>

I do believe that the tobi that fought the fourth is different from this one. Its possible that the other one was madara because when madara was summoned mentioned about knowing the other "madara"

This can't be true, Tobi being Obito. Like I read somewhere on here before, Tobi is somehow using Obito's body and playing mind games with Kakashi.

To think that Obito when head to head with the 4th Hokage is pretty stupid. To think that Obito's skills increased by that much to fight the the 4th Hokage when around the time he died he couldn't even stand against Kakashi. When he died he also died being totally different than what he believes in now.

Like I stated before, I think someone got a whole of his body and is controlling him through some jutsu, just like Pein's jutsu where he controlled dead bodies.

So much explaining to do for next chapter.

I dont understand why the last page shows the front view of Obito, but it also shows the rear and shows Naruto fighting him.

ok so first off I'm sure its going to be explained in the next chapter or 2. its not like its all "hey tobi is obito. series is over enjoy the rest of your day!". no, the series is still going on. second, kakashis gotta be like 16 when the fox attacks (compared to naruto who's 16 now, looks about right). kakashi and obito were 13 when obito "died". now lets just take a look at how powerful naruto got in approximately 3 years. why can't that happen to obito? especially if he was being trained by madara uchiha.
